生平

伊斯梅尔于2002年出生于亚利桑那州凤凰城[2]，其自称父亲是索马里人，母亲为埃塞俄比亚人[3]，并声称自己曾是索马里儿童兵[4]。据其说法，他在美国亚利桑那州斯科茨代尔成长，并于2021年5月自亚利桑那州立大学获得金融学士学位[5]。

伊斯梅尔以“约翰尼·索马里”为网名，主要透过YouTube和Kick等视像分享网站在包括日本、泰国、以色列和韩国等地进行旅游直播[6]。他于2023年5月开始直播主生涯，并被Twitch封禁后转至Kick平台，但随后也在Kick遭到短暂停权[7]。2024年5月，他被Kick永久封禁，随后试图说服Twitch解禁未果。目前他于Rumble上进行直播[8]。

日本事件

索马里在日本的旅行中曾对当地人发表反日言论[9][10]，包括涉及广岛与长崎原子弹爆炸的挑衅语句[11][12]，甚至在火车上威胁要用核武器攻击日本。索马里有时会在公共场合被当地人认出后遭到攻击，并受到带有种族歧视的辱骂[13][14]。一次事件中，一名美国男子因为他的行为上前质问，索马里当时辩称自己只是“网络白目”[15]。该名美国男子的举动受到网络上的广泛赞赏，而索马里表示自己当时醉酒，并已向该男子道歉[16]。索马里还曾骚扰日本Twitch直播主Meowku，这一行为最终导致Twitch禁封他的账号[17]。

以色列事件

2024年3月25日，索马里前往以色列特拉维夫，并与当地的阿拉伯人和犹太人发生争执，最终与对方对峙并遭到殴打[30][31]。由于这段直播，Kick平台因他煽动和宣扬暴力行为而对其封锁一周[32]。

4月5日，索马里到访耶路撒冷的西墙并进行直播。他将自己把哈维·温斯坦、阿丁·罗斯和杰弗里·爱泼斯坦的照片贴在墙上的这一幕拍摄下来，并声称温斯坦是他心目中的“顶尖犹太人物”之一，还对罗斯发表侮辱性言论。随后他被警方逮捕，并被禁止在50天内进入耶路撒冷[33][34]。

10月7日，索马里对象征二战期间为日本充当性奴隶的慰安妇少女铜像进行猥亵行为，包括亲吻雕像并做出膝上舞等猥亵动作。他还在地铁上大声播放如朝鲜领导人金正恩演讲等不雅声音[41]，并因在公车上大声播放朝鲜音乐而被赶下车[42][43]。10月17日，他在一家便利摊位疑似因员工阻止其饮酒而动粗[44]。10月26日，他被警方拘留期间不遵守规定[45]。随后，他将不明液体泼向一名女子，并将其手中的相机拍落至街上[46]。11月2日，韩国当局在针对他早前事件进行调查期间，禁止他离境[44][47]。
