abstract | The invention relates to a roasting process for raw materials, consisting of plant parts (2) or mixtures of plant parts (2) of different origins, in particular coffee beans, these parts optionally being subjected to a pretreatment, using at least one roasting device with a roasting chamber (4), in to which the plant parts (2) or the mixtures are exposed to an elevated temperature in order to achieve a final state, which is defined by at least one change in a property of the plant parts (2) or mixtures or the associated time period for the change. The process comprises at least two process stages at elevated temperature, the first process stage being ended before reaching the final state, whereupon the semi-finished product is subjected to an intermediate treatment in at least one intermediate stage, and in the second process stage the semi-finished product is exposed to the elevated temperature until the final state. |
