abstract | The present invention provides a novel apparatus for nculturing mammalian cells, whereby a plastic housing (1) encasing a ndouble membrane bag or bags (11) supplies nutrients and oxygen to nmammalian cells for propagation thereof. The double membrane bag ncontains a first bag (25,26) formed of a microfiltration or ultranfiltration membrane disposed within a second membrane bag (24,27) formed nof a liquid impermeable, gas permeable membrane. This apparatus nhas a first chamber (43) containing oxygen, a second chamber (50) ncontaining cells and a third chamber (28) containing nutrients. |
