abstract The present invention is to distinguish and detect a sintered ore and a piece of iron whose magnetic properties fluctuate without reducing the operating rate of a sintering machine, and to remove the piece of iron mixed in the sintered ore. A method of removing iron pieces mixed in sintered ore transported by a transport belt in two stages, wherein the first stage detects iron pieces exceeding a predetermined reference value, and detects the detected iron pieces. The method for removing iron pieces mixed in sintered ore, wherein the removing step and the second stage detect iron pieces less than the reference value and perform the step of removing the detected iron pieces. The sintered ore cooled by the circular cooler 2 is loaded on the transport belt 4 via the transport belt 3, and as a first step, the mixed iron pieces are detected by the metal detector 6. The iron piece in the sintered ore transferred from the transport belt 4 to the transport belt 5 is detected by the metal detector 7 installed in the second stage, and the iron piece removing machine having a magnet while the transport belt 5 is in operation. 8 is automatically removed together with the sintered ore.
