The present invention relates to improved filters for use in smoking articles such as cigarettes, cigars, and thin cigars. This improvement relates specifically to, but is not limited to, filter performance and the manufacture of such a filter. In one embodiment, the smoking article filter includes a first fiber filter material having an average fiber denier in the range of 7-9 and a second fiber filter material having an average fiber denier of less than 7. The application also describes smoking article filters with a variety of other filter configurations including absorbent and / or adsorbent materials. |
