titleOfInvention | Method for forming direct positive color image |
abstract | PURPOSE:To rapidly and stably form high maximum color density and low minimum color density by using a developing solution of pH of <=11.3, a color coupler to be allowed by coupling to release a nondiffusive dye, silver halide grains having a core/shell type structure, and a specified compound as a nucleating agent. CONSTITUTION:The direct positive color image is obtained by using the developing solution of pH of <=11.3; the color coupler to be allowed by oxidation coupling with the oxidation product of a p-phenylene diamine type color developing agent to release a nondiffusive dye; the latent image type silver halide grains having a core/shell type structure having the core made of silver chloroiodobromide or the like composed of >=90mol% silver bromide and <=10mol% silver iodide, and the shell made of silver chlorobromide containing >=20mol% silver chloride; and as the nucleating agent, one of the compounds represented by formulae I and II in which Z is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to form a 5- or 6-membered hetero ring; R<1> is an aliphatic group; R<2> is H or the like; each of n and m is 0 or 1; R<21> is an aliphatic group or the like; R<22> is H or the like; G is a carbonyl group or the like; and each of R<23> and R<24> is H or the like. |
