titleOfInvention Direct positive image forming method
abstract PURPOSE:To permit quick and stable formation of a direct positive image having a high max. image density and low min. image density by executing a developing process in the presence of a nucleation accelerator selected from compds. having a group to be adsorbed to silver halide and org. group contg. at least one thioether group, etc. CONSTITUTION:The developing process is executed in the presence of the nucleation accelerator contg. the group to be adsorbed to the silver halide and the org. group contg. at least one of the thioether group, amino group, ammonium group, ether group or heterocyclic group. A nucleating agent is a material which acts to form a direct positive image when acted at the time of subjecting an unfogged internal latent image type halogenated emulsion to a preliminary surface developing process. Said agent is usable in combination of >=2 kinds. The nucleation accelerator is a material which has substantially no function as the nucleating agent but acts to increase the max. density of the direct positive image and/or to shorten the developing time necessary for obtaining the specified direct positive image density by accelerating the effect of the nucleating agent. Said agent is usable in combination of >=2 kinds.
