Date Jun. 26, 1997A catalytic process for the preparation of (meth)acrylic acid esters of formula (I), in which R1 is H or CH3 and A and B are unbranched or branched alkylene groups with 2 to 5 C-atoms, by reaction of (meth)acrylic acid esters of formula (II), in which R2 is an alkyl group of in particular 1 to 4 C-atoms, and alcohols of formula (III) in the presence of a maximum of 250 ppm Ca(OH)2 as the catalyst. After reaction the catalyst can be separated from the reaction mixture by filtration.
