- Delta State is an adult animated television series, based on the comic by Douglas Gayeton (which was never released), featuring four amnesiac roommates with the ability to enter an ethereal realm known as the Delta State. They face the dual tasks of piecing together their past lives and battling a group of Delta State denizens called Rifters, who seek to control the human mind. The main characters are Claire (Ilona Elkin), Martin (Dusan Dukic), Luna (Lizz Alexander), and Philip (Nicholas Wright). The series debuted September 11, 2004 on Teletoon, the Canadian cartoon television network. It is the first animated television series to be entirely rotoscoped, taking over 2 ½ years to complete. Delta State is a Canadian and French co-production with designs, storyboards, etc., done by Alphanim in Paris. Shooting and recording were performed by Nelvana in Montreal. The series was created by Douglas Gayeton, who also directed the original pilot and wrote the bible for the show. The show has won the Special Award for a TV program at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, and the Frames 2004 for best Asian Production. La trama de la serie trata sobre cuatro jóvenes amnésicos (Claire, Martin, Luna, Philip) que comparten un departamento, que tienen la habilidad de entrar al Estado Delta. Ellos tienen la misión tanto de reconstruir sus vidas pasadas como de enfrentar a una agrupación conocida como los Rifters, quienes buscan el control de la mente humana. Se destaca por ser la primera serie animada en ser desarrollada completamente bajo la técnica de Rotoscopía, por lo cual para ser completada se requirieron 27 meses de trabajo. Los diseños como los guiones fueron realizados por Alphanim en Francia, y el trabajo de grabación de voces como algunas labores menores fue realizado por Nelvana en Canadá. Esta serie obtuvo el Premio Especial por un programa de televisión en el Annecy International Animated Film Festival and the Frames 2004 por mejor producción asiática. Fue estrenada el 11 de septiembre de 2004 en Canadá por el canal Teletoon. Consta de 26 episodios, sin embargo la productora Alphanim anunció que la serie fue renovada para una segunda temporada [1] (PDF).
