A tag has been placed on Jonny Bruce requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. A tag has been placed on You Bastard, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Wiktionary Block

[edit]

I would very much like to know why you felt it necessary to block me on Wiktionary. Even if you are unaware of the reason for my edit, which I feel was completely warranted (something which I will take the time to convince of in here later) labeling what I did vandalism seems like an overreaction. Before I go on, however, I want to point out that I did, in fact, initially give a description for why I made my edit. Unfortunately, before I could finalize my edit I realized I wasn't logged in so I had to go login and redo the edit again, only this time I apparently forgot to enter the reason for my edit before I finalized it. For the record, the edit description read something along the lines of "Removed unnecessary video game trivia."

Now I hope this is enough to convince you that I am not a vandal because now I am going to take the time to convince you why this edit was necessary. I do not know if you read this entry, but the majority of this entry is dedicated to explaining the significance of a nail bat (a fairly common jury-rigged weapon consisting of nails wedged into the sides to create a makeshift spiked club) in the video game Final Fantasy VII. It then goes on to cite various message boards and guides that talk about the weapon's presence within the game. It is for this reason that I edited the entry to remove all references to the video game, making for a more an entry that I feel resembles an entry from a dictionary than it does an entry from a gamer's blog post. I do not think that I need to remind you that Wikipedia is not a video game guide, so treating this entry as if it were a page on some gamer fan site just comes off as messy and unprofessional. Are going to start tolerating pop culture fanboys editing various weapon-related entries so that they can note when they have appeared in their favorite movie, TV show, or video game? Because to my knowledge, the admins put their foot down on this particular subject quite some time ago. In all honesty, I think the case could probably be made that this entry should be deleted entirely.

Thank you for time, I hope that my block is lifted soon and that in the future you will inquire about suspicious edits from me personally before resorting to such actions. This was kind of the reason why I decided to log in while making my edit, after all. Feel free to contact me if you have any further concerns that you want to raise about this issue, I will be keeping an eye on my notifications for the foreseeable future. –Nahald (talk) 02:18, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Need help with article on the Four dimensional shape, the Cubinder.

[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedian. I am in the process of creating an article about the 4D shape, the “cubinder”. It was previously red linked on other articles, and I was surprised to see it was not already an item listed for creation by Wiki Projects Mathematics, as the duocylinder and spheriender are already articles. I require help to improve the draft, as I require more formulae, sources, and additional information to create this article. You can access this page at User:Darnburn98/Cubinder, please come on over and help improve this article to get into the main space! Darnburn98 (talk) 23:25, 20 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Knaggs moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Michael Knaggs, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Unblock request

[edit]

Hello- I would like to be unblocked from posting comments to my userpage. I have new responses on my Wiktionary user page that I would like to comment on. I can accept being blocked for three months from editing on English Wiktionary mainspace, but I don't see how I earned getting blocked off my userpage. Is there a process to go through in terms of getting a decision on whether or not to let me comment on my userpage? Nobody who doesn't want to interact with me has to write on my userpage, and I have responses to my proposal. Geographyinitiative (talk) 23:48, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Note that I can't make the partial unblock request myself because I can't edit my userpage. Geographyinitiative (talk) 01:15, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Note - it wasn't me that blocked you. SemperBlotto (talk) 04:44, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Michael Knaggs, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:39, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Michael Knaggs

[edit]

Hello, SemperBlotto. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Michael Knaggs".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! HasteurBot (talk) 14:00, 6 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you block me on Wiktionary?

[edit]

Was the reason you blocked me the "methionylthreonylthreonyl..."? That is not gibberish. That is the word that is linked to itself. Why is it piped |titin]] on the article titin?

If not, why else??? 76.103.46.252 (talk) 15:15, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Jeff Knaggs in Venice.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Jeff Knaggs in Venice.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 02:49, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
