Fire tests of the upper Redshift rocket stage have been completed in Germany
The German company Rocket Factory Augsburg has completed fire tests of the upper stage of the Redshift RFA ONE rocket. This is reported by European Spaceflight.
The tests demonstrated the readiness of the stage for launch. Now the Redshift will be sent to the SaxaVord island spaceport off the coast of Scotland to integrate with the rest of the rocket stages. The first launch of the RFA ONE is expected at the end of 2024.
The three-stage RFA ONE rocket will be capable of delivering up to 1,300 kilograms into low Earth orbit. The first launches of the carrier are planned to be carried out from SaxaVord, subsequently launches will be carried out from a site in French Guiana.
In May, the publication reported that there are three candidates for the place of the Russian Soyuz-ST space rocket at the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana — the MaiaSpace Maia rocket, the new carrier developed by Avio and the RFA ONE MAX rocket.
