Cool Your Jets Station is a test in Splatoon 2's paid downloadable content, Octo Expansion. This station is unlocked after clearing Break & Bounce Station or Matchmaster Station.

Access

The player must clear either H06 Break & Bounce Station or J02 Matchmaster Station to access this test. The shortest way to access this station is to clear J02 Matchmaster Station.

Overview

This station is a battle against Octo Shower Supreme, a harder version of Octo Shower from Sanitizarium in Octo Canyon. Instead of traditional weapons, players must defeat the boss only using the Inkjet.

Phase 1

The boss's attacks are mostly identical to the Octo Shower's, but its Octorpedos home in more aggressively and the Octocopters fire several shots at once. Destroying the Octocopters reveals the tentacle, as before.

Phase 2

The Octo Shower Supreme now begins to use its ink shower attack, which is executed faster and can be performed multiple times in a row.

Phase 3

In addition to replacing the Octocopters with Rocket Octocopters, the boss begins to use its Sting Ray, which it performs vertical sweeps with in order to prevent the player from simply flying over the beam. The beam can also be turned more quickly than the regular Octo Shower's.

Etymology

"Cool Your Jets" comes from a figurative phrase, to 'cool one's jets'. It is used to encourage another to rear in a state of excitement or anger; also a reference to the use of the Inkjet in this station.

"Whatever, Dad!" is a stereotypically generic frustrated response by teenagers (or occasionally sardonically by or to any speaker, regardless of age or familial relation). When combined with the station name, it appears to create an exchange between two speakers.
