Thanks for handling the first batch of comments. I have some family issues to deal with over the next few days which will limit my time; I haven't yet been able to look over Tim's and Wehwalt's comments, will try and find some time tomorrow. Also I hope I didn't seem too precipitous in replying to Tim's points: I guess it's partly a throwback to my years working in an editorial office where things had to be done quite quickly, but also it reflects the kid in me who is enjoying the process, not having been at the receiving end of a PR before (so to speak). Oh dear, I must be seeing things. I saw on my watch list that Ian Rose had "Closed/Promoted" the John Hay FAC, another excellent article which I have only recently reviewed. I have only reviewed two articles in the last day or and have now got Hay confused with this. A premature award, which is very much deserved nonetheless. I will call this faux pas a Riley-ism! I think we are unlikely to get many more PR comments, and I am inclined to nominate it at FAC on Sunday evening (10th), unless you would prefer it to stand for a while. Right, I have nominated, and advised all the contributors to the peer review. It's my normal practice to wait for 24 hours before checking the page for comments – that gives time for a few to arrive. I know Rye well, from the days I when lived on the Sussex coast. Lots of pottery shops and literary associations. Did you visit Henry James's house? There was Radcliffe Hall, too, and E.F. Alas, Henry James's house is not open on Sundays, but we walked past and wished it was another day (though the weather by then was lovely). We did climb and negotiate the narrow passages to (nearly) the top of the church tower, and admired the wonderful view from there. It was all particularly nice as our Hungarian friend had never visited anywhere in England outside London before, so she got to see a lot of country lanes, sheep populated fields and tree-lined "tunnels" on our drive. Phew, you've been busy! I would be very intrigued by Gielgud: not knowing much of his biography but having enjoyed (among several highlights in various films) seeing him act everyone off the screen in Plenty, and seeing him on stage in The Best of Friends and being (perhaps naively) impressed by how he suavely stayed in character when some small object fell off the mantlepiece on the set, I shall read this with great interest. Tchaikovsky (Ukrainian pro-Western composer)

In your recent edit you restored the "short description" field on Tchaikovsky, correctly identifying him as a Ukrainian composer. However, in the same edit, you removed the category tag "Ukrainian composers" and the "bio" stub Ukrainian-bio-stub from the Tchaikovsky article.

You motivated your illogical reverts by stating that the reverted edits were not neutral.

Please justify your recent reverts. Alternatively, please restore the category tag and the Ukrainian-bio stub consistent with the facts stated in the Tchaikovsky article.

Thank you for pointing out that the Short description had Tchaikovsky as Ukrainian (which I'm certain I did not "restore" - if I did, this was entirely inadvertent): I have now corrected this to Russian. Though clearly he had a fondness for Ukraine, Tchaikovsky self-identified as Russian, and was born and educated in Russia; having a great-grandfather who was a Cossack is insufficient to identify him as Ukrainian rather than Russian. Congratulations for that as well, I missed it, just saw Chopin ;) - I created an article for it, did you know, and two more for that one yesterday, two more today. That part of me is happy and thriving. I have three nagging concerns reducing my pleasure, though: lack of learning here, missing a clear thinker there (who blocked himself), and seeing that some still believe in an infobox war while the last battle was in 2012, as far as I know (if adding an infobox to a lady's bio - not even a classical composer - can be called a battle, - it should be a normal edit, not even especially bold), and I get along well with all people involved. No dramas, actually, - not learning is no drama, my friend can't return because he blocked himself (explained in detail on that page), and infoboxes: the good thing is there is no drama. All is calm, as far as I see, that whole thing could simply be forgotten. Rotherham

I think you are making the same mistake as I made earlier today, of confusing the very specific 2010 trial of five men with the much wider abuses identified in the Inquiry report. Right, so because one editor thinks they own this article and edit wars with me, I get blocked? If you look across Wikipedia you will see about 99% of articles describe people as being English and Scottish etc if British if known. To suggest Peter Sellers isn't English, or that there is anything wrong with describing him as English is insane.

Also, I don't see much point entering further into discussion with the other editor. To be accused of having a "narrow nationalist view" off the bat, from an editor who describes themselves as British on their own user page and actively edits a page describing someone as being Scottish confirms there's no reasoning with them. Their view is against the general consensus of Wikipedia and they're fighting on articles they think they control. My edit was correct.

Please read the policy Wikipedia:Verifiability, and read the essay Wikipedia:Verifiability, not truth which is pertinent to your edits to Peter Sellers. Unless you take this on board, you will be letting yourself in for not only a lot of frustration, but possibly will get yourself blocked. Alma mater

Well, I half concede your point: certainly I wasn't aware that until 1918 that the university was in effect split, with a German branch *and* a Czech branch, so apologies for the assumption I made. I've reinstated the German name to help clarify that Roth went to the German branch of Charles University, explaining the situation in parenthesis afterwards. i was travelling overseas and away from home when the whole thing started in other categories , about 6 years ago, and was even more suprised the ed who started the original splits seemed to enjoy celeb status somewhere in the us, but then as the late andy warhol once said we all have our x minutes of fame, and then back to the grindstone... i suppose... Regarding this edit, I opened a discussion on the article Talk page about that section. I also regard it as WP:SYNTH, but I wanted to talk it out with the other editor in the interest of avoiding an edit war. Hi Alfie, (if I may!), I have just been admiring your improvements to Steuart Wilson. I have long wished that there was a decent article on Arnold Goldsborough and wondered if you might think of undertaking it, at least as a starting-point? I have scraped together a few references but they are really insufficient to make more than a stub, while you seem to have Britten-ish sources (which I imagine would be useful) at your fingertips. You will probably think me lazy (as our interests coincide) but I am not sure where to look for suitable sources, and am a bit pushed for time. Expresso

I don't agree with your edit, calling expresso a corrupt spelling. The OED and the Online Etymological Dictionary call it a variant spelling.OnBeyondZebrax • TALK 12:54, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
