An article you recently created, Smart Gate (United Arab Emirates), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Polymer banknote, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page AED. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Your GA nomination of Asiatic cheetah

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Asiatic cheetah you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Kpddg -- Kpddg (talk) 16:20, 6 January 2022 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Asiatic cheetah

The article Asiatic cheetah you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Asiatic cheetah for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Kpddg -- Kpddg (talk) 14:41, 7 January 2022 (UTC)

Biography of a living person issue

Please help me with...an opinion on a biography of a living person issue. I think that the (wives and children) part in Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is very poorly sourced and I don't think that's appropiate when listing this many living people. I'm not sure of the notability of the section anyway, especially when it leaves cells empty and says others details are unknown. I struggled finidng reliable sources that are this detailed in listing his wives and children, the only place where you can information that is this detailed is Wikipedia.

It would be great if you could give me some details of what you think as I'm not too familiar with editing pages related to people. Vyvagaba (talk) 10:29, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

This is not a change that can be made unilaterally; you should bring this matter up at Talk:Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum so that interested editors can join in the conversation and determine a consensus for how best to proceed. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, or Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 10:56, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

Minor edits

Information icon Hi Vyvagaba! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Ian Walmsley that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Jonathan A Jones (talk) 07:04, 18 May 2022 (UTC)

Hi, thank you for your message, just to clarify, the edit does not change the meaning of the article. The mistake I corrected is clearly an obvious one, because Imperial College London is already listed as his alma mater in the article. Vyvagaba (talk) 10:16, 18 May 2022 (UTC)

UAE template

Hi there! I appreciate your effort cleaning up the UAE template box and the design, it looks very cool. Just wanted to ask if it was possible to include the local governments in the template as part of a Governments tab, because the local governments play a much more important role in the day-to-day lives of people in the UAE and political rules than the federal government and placing it under the federalism tab kind of makes it more difficult to reach the information about them. I am aware there are only two pages so far, and I hope to eventually get the other pages up and running but just wanted to make clear how vital each local government is and relevance to overall UAE politics. ScholarofArabia (talk) 10:43, 17 May 2023 (UTC)

Hi there! thank you for the compliments, it took quite a while to get done. I changed the the Fedralism tab to Local governments, since the aspect of the federal government is quite important too, check it out and let me know if you have any more suggestions. I'm also working on creating articles on politics in the UAE!!! Vyvagaba (talk) 15:54, 17 May 2023 (UTC)

Categories

I think you may explain why you removed the categories. Thanks, Egeymi (talk) 10:30, 9 June 2023 (UTC)

I'm reorganising the catergories into a more logical form, check out Category:Government agencies of the United Arab Emirates, and let me know if you have any more questions Vyvagaba (talk) 10:31, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
Yes I've one question, why you didn't include the category above to the page Arabian Gulf Digital Archive? --Egeymi (talk) 10:34, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
Because it's not a government agency, its a website from the National Archives (UAE) Vyvagaba (talk) 10:35, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
But this parent organization, National Archives, is put under Category:United Arab Emirates federal entities and AGAP is a governmental agency not just a website.Egeymi (talk) 10:38, 9 June 2023 (UTC)

AFDs

Hello, Vyvagaba,

Please do not post a dozen AFD nominations all at once. Other editors have to investigate each one, examine their sources and look for additional sources. This can be very time-consuming so posting 10 or 12 nominations is kind of a burden for editors who want to participate in deletion discussions. Just pace yourself, nominate a few articles at a time instead of so many all at once. It would also help if you provided more than one word deletion rationale, explain why you are arguing that an article should be deleted, what you found when you did a source analysis, what policies you are using to argue for deletion. It has to be evident that you have done a thorough WP:BEFORE for each nomination you make. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 03:02, 24 June 2023 (UTC)

topicon category

You have recently attempted to add a lot of topicon templates into categories. Unfortunately you have added the users of these topicons. This is because you did your change in the template and that contents of the templates are then applied to wherever the template is used. So if I use one of those templates on my user page then my user page is put into the category. To put the template into the category and not the users, you should add the category to the documentation page of the template. I have fixed this for {{WikiProject Australia topicon}}. Can you please fix this for the other templates that you changed. It will take a day or two after the fix for the categories to show the corrected entries.  Stepho  talk  10:53, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

Thank you so much I've been trying to figure it out for an hour so far. I will fix it on the rest of the pages I edited in a bit. Vyvagaba (talk) 10:56, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
No problem, we all need to learn at some point. However, in the future it is best to experiment on one template first. Changes to the other templates are best done after the first template has been confirmed to be correct. Feel free to ask if you want some help.  Stepho  talk  11:00, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: Abdullah Al Karbi

Hello Vyvagaba. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Abdullah Al Karbi, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Playing for Al Wahda FC is enough of a significance claim. Thank you. BangJan1999 21:17, 3 August 2023 (UTC)

The player is obviously not notable Wikipedia:Notability (sports). No significant coverage, and the only sources listed are trivial. Vyvagaba (talk) 21:21, 3 August 2023 (UTC)

Just so you know, the WP:A7 tag is not for articles lacking notability, it's for articles (specifically articles about real people, individual animals, commercial or non-commercial organizations, web content, or organized events) that do not make an attempt to credibly indicate why the subject in question is important or significant, regardless of whether reliable sources back it up or whether said claim would make them notable. For example, an article that says "John Smith is a British footballer" would be A7 as it doesn't say why the person in question is significant. However, a article saying "John Smith is a British footballer who played 3 games for Wycombe Wanderers F.C. in 2007" would not be A7 as the article in question does make a claim to why the person in question is significant. August 2023

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Dakhla, Western Sahara, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. M.Bitton (talk) 13:34, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Dakhla, Western Sahara, you may be blocked from editing. M.Bitton (talk) 13:51, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Dakhla, Western Sahara. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. M.Bitton (talk) 13:55, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

Question

Why are you removing sourced content that is factual and undisputed? M.Bitton (talk) 13:54, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

Please explain what factual info I removed Vyvagaba (talk) 13:55, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
You know very well what I'm talking about (the sources about the occupation). M.Bitton (talk) 13:56, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
Right, "occuppied" is not the proper when it comes in Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. Vyvagaba (talk) 13:58, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
It's an undisputed fact that is used throughout wikipedia. Just look as similar articles (Ukraine, etc.). M.Bitton (talk) 14:00, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
My edits did not say anywhere that the city is not "occupied", so I don't understand what the problem is. Vyvagaba (talk) 14:02, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
Don't play games with me. Your edit removed the word occupied and the supporting sources. M.Bitton (talk) 14:03, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
Relax, Wikipedia:No personal attacks. Vyvagaba (talk) 14:04, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
I am very relaxed and I don't see any personal attack in what I said. The same can't be said about what your comments. M.Bitton (talk) 14:05, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
I'll submit a NPOV to see whats wrong with your pattern of reverts on Dakhla, Western Sahara Vyvagaba (talk) 13:56, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
The only that is wrong here is your intent on removing properly sourced content that you don't like. M.Bitton (talk) 13:57, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
I don't like?! you're the one being animated on the topic, so please don't mention "I don't like". Vyvagaba (talk) 14:00, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

Crossroads

Hi Vyvagaba. Hope you are well. This is in reference to the ANI report. I am messaging you here to avoid significant commentary on the ANI noticeboard. There are two routes you can take herewith.

  1. The first alternative: At the ANI thread, provide a confirmation that you will take care to stick to what sources say and to not remove reliably sourced material from hereon. Once you do that, I will close the thread with no action taken, and on good faith.
  2. The second alternative: If you do not give that confirmation, I would reasonably expect you to continue misrepresenting and enforcing your pov disruptively in the future -- and therefore would move ahead to indefinitely block you until you give the above confirmation.

I hope you understand that the intention is to nip the issue at its core -- and consensus is tending that you have to reverse your current stand, or face a block/ban. I am providing an easy way forward. Let me know very soon; so I know what route to take. Thank you, Lourdes 11:34, 22 August 2023 (UTC)

Hi Lourdes, thank you for clarifying clearly what the issue, since I genuinely didn't know what the problem in my behaviour exactly was; and I really appreciate you doing so privately. I am willing to acknowladge my mistake and provide that in the ANI report.
I generally avoid editing in hot-button topics, and this was my first time doing so. I didn't expect the edit to be this controversial, and I acknowladge my initial mistake regarding the source I removed. I tried to rectify the issue but any further edits I made were also considered controversial, and I am backing down of the edit as a whole.
However, I still believe that M.Bitton behaviour is very improper, as I was subject to many allegations of "alteriour motives", "playing games", and general malice towards the topic, I was also told to "get lost" when I tried to point this out. They were also stone walling any debate on the article's talk page and stopping any debate on the topic. I think this is uncivil, personal, and creates a level of antagonism that removes any opportunity for constructive dialogue. In my opinion, M.Bitton demeanour shows that they are bias on the topic; which is evidenced the user's edit history and created pages, which are clearly side of the story.
I really appreciate you taking the time to hear me out, I will post the acknowladgment requested on the ANI report. Vyvagaba (talk) 14:42, 22 August 2023 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Category:Recipients of the Order of Zayed requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2019 March 23. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. US or U.S.

I'm not sure why you are changing "US" to "U.S.". MOS:US doesn't suggest going from article to article changing them. Magnolia677 (talk) 21:53, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi, MOS:US (and MOS:ABBR) say that abbreviations within an article should be consistant, so either US or U.S. in the whole article. "Because use of periods for abbreviations and acronyms should be consistent within any given article" from MOS:US. Vyvagaba (talk) 22:05, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
