Is he the best father? Yes and no. He finds it hard when he finds out his son is autistic. His Wife leaves, but he puts himself together and does everything he can for his son. Truly everything. All their time together he tries to figure out what makes his son tick, what makes him scared, and how to overcome it the best he can.
I liked how it was drawn, and the story is lovely. He does turn out to be a great father. And there is some happiness at the end too. You know I like that.
But yes, graphic novels in e-form so does not work for me. I tried on my computer but scrolling down to read one page and then up again to read the other book. Not the medium for me. But in paper it would obviously be perfect.

And I loved it! It was the perfect size for reading, much better than those bigger ones.
I also came in at book 3, but they had done it really well and I did not feel like I had missed much other than the obvious. Calexa being killed and dumped in the cemetery. Her living there. 2 people dying and going into her (well that sounds freaky)! And it seems meeting some old man and his son and that son getting hurt (and there are obvi feelings between Calexa and the son).
And with that the story began. Someone still wants her dead, but why? A PI is asking questions and wanting to find her, but can he be trusted? Winter is coming! Which is bad since she lives in a cemetery ;)
A nice conclusion to a series (yes yes I did not read them all), but I am glad a conclusion came. I wanted answers too and now I can not say more cos spoilers.
Great artwork too. That is all that counts for me....more

Oh great, what a short review.
Ok...5 girls, I can't remember their names. One had a hat, one was cute, one was tall, one street, can't remember the next one. They are girl scouts, they find some weird paranormal stuff, stuff happens.
Anyway, good illustrations. But will not read more....more

Two star crossed lovers being hunted across space. And they have a baby to protect.
I always say it, but I cannot review graphic novels...
Story: The meet an author. They try to live as normally as always. Good.
Illustration: Yes, that part I find the most important. I really like the illustrations. They are awesome.
Good. But I really need to try to check at the library if I have read vol2 ;)...more

But the drawings are really good, that is what I want from a graphic novel. The story itself just seemed to end. There really should be more cos it can't end like that.
The story, they were on the run in this weird land and met rabbits in chaingangs, evil ones and more.
I really should read more comics! They are so fun, but of course I have no idea how to review them. And there might be a spoiler or two in here.

Adrienne was so cool! Already on the first page she showed of her snark when she told her mother that the Rapunzel story had plotholes. Not to mention asked why all the princesses are fair and blonde...
Anyway, sorry Adrienne, your parents still put you in a stupid tower with a dragon to guard you. But she is one cool woman and she breaks free. And she questions why women has to be saved, they can save themselves just as well. Not to mention why can only men rule? And as we see later, why can only men be blacksmiths when his daughter is the one doing the actual work?
First, I must mention a sidestory that showed up. One of the princes who was sent to rescue her. I liked his insight. He was drilled to be charming, but poor guy, he needed someone to save him too. But no one saves a prince ;)
All in all. Great pics, drawn well, I do not how to say it. Smashing illustrations guys! Fun story, snarky and good. I'd totally read more. ...more

Again good artwork, cool story. Though I really wanna know about those preggers women, the freaky kids...but I guess that might come later. I mean why? Why were these kids born if the mothers did not even know they were pregnant.
Also I totally had to read it after I read that a MCR member has written it
The heroes, oh they got their issues. And Mr Pogo! Omg drama.
Anyway if you are looking for some cool and kick-ass then this might be for you, also it got weird superheroes ...more

Two races at war, and two aliens fall in love and have a hybrid baby and then they run. There is a freaky sex world, a weird tree and a girl with her guts hanging out. That's sci-for you.
I enjoyed it and I would like to know if they survive. It also makes me wonder if I should try that other Vaughan series....more

Impressed I was not, but it was still a very good WWI graphic novel. It showed the horror in its truth.
I liked the way it portrayed war. The horrible thing is not men killing the enemy. It's war after all. Yes it is unimaginable why it is being done, but that is the way it always have been. The horrible thing here is killing your own.
There was the man who did not understand French and was sentenced to death for not following an order. It was the man when the war started who did not stand up and praise France and was beaten to death. It was the Jewish man sent out to take down a corpse, a task everyone knew would kill him. The men who tried to take a trench, but had to turn back, and then was shelled by their own for being cowards. It was the women and children being used as human shields and was killed because the enemy was behind them. It was the man who did not ran fast enough and was killed by their own for it. That is the horrible fact of war.

If I were to recommend a comic then yes it would be this one. Creepy and cute is just a perfect match. Oh and do not forget funny too, because that is sure is. Very amusing in a morbid way...more

It is a picture book for children and it is the first one I have ever reviewed. It is sweet (well in a way), most pages have one big picture in it and little text and it is short. It is a picture book after all.
I do love picture books and I have read quite a few lately when temping at a kindergarten. I am sure they would have liked this fun story. I am not sure about ages, not too young since the wolf does eat Red and her granny so the kids have to see the humor in it. But it is also very short so too short for older kids. And I am sure adults would have fun reading it too. I sure did.
This is the story told by the big bad wolf who loves food, and then I mean food like apples. But then one day there is no food in his cupboards anymore and he is hungry. He sees a girl all dress in red, like one big apple. She looks good enough to eat, she and her grandmother that he hears about. Too bad the girl is full of herself. Her grandmother is all dressed in green, like a yummy green apple, and she is also very full of herself. And yes he eats them, but then that does not matter because I am all on Wolf’s side. He is funny and hungry.
Grandmother’s house was fun to see. There were portraits of her everywhere. That is one shallow family. I do think they had it coming for them.
At the end there are also some things to think about. Like how the story changed when it was told from his point of view, and there is a glossary too. And how you can read and learn more, and internet sites to check out. All good things for the kids.
Verdict: A good and fun story for everyone to like and the illustrations are really adorable. Rating, how does one rate a book like this one? Ok the pictures were cute! So that gets a 4 and because of the overall story is stays a 4. Very amusing and adorable....more

This story is not as sweet as the latest Disney version Tangled made it out to be. Rapunzel is given to a witch as a baby and is later put in a tower, until the day she meets her princen but the witch finds out and punishes them. It gets sad for poor Rapzunel and her prince. Of course there are different versions to the story and this is one of them. But it all ends with a happily ever after. But there is sure some wicked things going on in between. I see that Stella mentioned them so I will to, the prince makes her preggers! Haha, yes that did not happen in the Disney version. But then I do like the real versions more, with blood, torns in eyes and women lost in the woods.
The pictures are cute and well drawn. The clothes make it more real since they all look like they come from some nice little old German village. The colors are also very dark in a way and fits the general tone of the story. Very cute in the end.
Thumbelina
Tumbelina is the story of a woman who wants a child, goes to a witch and gets a tiny child to call her own. But that poor child gets kidnapped a lot and everyone wants to marry her before she finds her fairy prince. I feel very wicked but the Tumbelina figure was not that cute so I kept on wondering why everyone wanted to marry her. Also maybe that is the grown-up talking but in one picture it looks like a bug is trying to rape her o_O.
This one had another look to it, and it fits perfect as a picture book for children.
Snow White
The tale of Snow White has a more comic/manga feel to it. The story is also a bit different, starting from the prince to the demise of the wicked queen. And it is a very good story. Though again it had me wondering. The prince did not save her, a servant did but she still fell for the prince, tsk.
For kids, eh, perhaps not. Too many things going on in the pictures. This story is more for older kids and teens that can read for themselves.
Another thing being told is the history at the end of each story. At the end of this one I learned something new. That some historians say that Snow White was a real person who lived in a German mining town. Margareta von Waldock who was loved by Prince Phillip II of Spain, but she poisoned at the age of 21.
Beauty and the Beast
This was another cute tale and the beast looked really hideous and scary (not the kind of beast you fall in love with). But you see that his eyes were nice, and then the story gets really sad as she leaves and promises to return but her father tells her not to. But this is a fairytale and they get their happy ever after. As it should be. Still, have a little more backbone Beauty.
The drawings are really simple, but in this really cute way.
I also find the last page so fascinating again as it tells that the beast stayed a beast in the original version. My oh my.
The Princess and the Pea
The prince meets a lot of strange and funny princesses before he returns home to the castle without a wife. The drawings suits the story once again, and the different princesses are the best part. And yes of course she slept badly on top of that! I would have been scared to death. The whole feel reminds me of something but I can’t think of what. Not much more to add.
As a conclusion: These stories were all well drawn and retold. I liked them and I do think that they all are fun to read to children and adults will enjoy them too. So the overall score from me is: 4 stars...more
