The plot: A BDSM style murder brings together married homicide detective, Gavin, and psychiatrist aGreat BDSM Thriller! 4 Stars.
What a fantastic read!
The plot: A BDSM style murder brings together married homicide detective, Gavin, and psychiatrist and BDSM consultant, Ben. Gavin finds himself attracted to the BDSM lifestyle and eagerly dives in to accept his repressed gay sexuality. Murders increase as Gavin finds himself contracted as a submissive to Ben. Yes, they solve the murder, but do not come out unscathed. The action moved along, my biggest disappointment is that I had the murderer and motive pegged from the get-go so it was a matter of waiting to see when the characters would figure it out.
The Characters: Gavin, the detective was intriguing and I enjoyed seeing him drawn to the submissive side of D/s. I had more difficulty in how easily he transitioned from a straight marriage to a gay relationship in a matter of hours. However refreshing it is to read about a closeted character who is not wallowing in angst about his sexual identity, I thought that a little worry or hesitation would have made the character a bit more realistic. Ben was a solid character who had some moments of depth to him and wasn't a stereotypical dom. I look forward to seeing both of these characters grow in the next book.
The Heat: Hot vanilla sex. Hot BDSM scenes and sex. I loved the scene where Gavin gets his cherry popped--he dives right in. Warning: there is a non-con torture/rape scene.
The Writing: It flowed and nothing made me wince! I thought the pacing was much better in the first half of the book. The second half seemed a bit rushed.
Overall: I totally dug it, especially when Gavin and Ben were getting together. I also appreciated a strong female secondary character as Gavin's partner. I'm so continuing this series! (Except I usually need some fluff between BDSM books!)

Overall: I liked the beginning when Leo was hauled to debtors’ prison to work off his debts through servicing the paying public & horny guards. Each chapter was a new scene with a different type of sex act including servicing past friends, medical examination kinks, felching, restraints, gags, glory holes, and more. Was it worth the price? I’d say yes since several scenes were freaking hot. Available on Smashwords. ...more
