It is a bitOk, so this book kinda calls for a more detailed review. Up until this point I had only read Selena's Powerplay series which I kinda love. It is a bit more romancey and less erotica bordering adult film industry reading.
Well, I kept seeing this book pop up in my feed randomly. Everyone loves it! Says its like the end all be all of erotica.
It kinda was.
I mean Selena literally overdoses you to the point of sexual pain with how much she gives you. From f/f to f/f/m to m/f then back to f/f again. It details are really vivid and your going, "Oh, crap I didn't know I was into that! Well, I guess I am now!"
For the most part it is like a really dirty New Adult coming of age book. Maybe if all of them were as blunt and raw as this one was, I would like more New Adult fiction. I was a bit unsatisfied with the ending hence the non full five stars. I guess I understand what she was doing with this story--however, I felt used for Ronnie's sake. It was like, "We love you, we love you, oh you are beautiful." Then literally with no phone call Ronnie is replaced and its like static and crickets. I was like WHAT!
Ok, now I'm pretty open. I was pretty wild when I hit 17 through the age of 20. But if this happened to me. And the raw sexuality and emotions that were spewed out in this book to Ronnie had happened to me it would royally mess me up in the head. Yeah, its technically just erotica. Obviously, some are even calling it pretty much porn. However, I can't help but think it was trying to send a message. Maybe I'm over thinking it because I'm so angry and hurt for Ronnie. Yeah, she's 19 but I can't help but feel one of the GROWN ADULTS should have spoken to her and explained more. It was like like "Good humping you, bye! Moving on to the next nanny."
Ok, before turn this into a rant on the last chapter lol I'm gonna stop and just remember the good times Ronnie had with the Baumgartners--and Gretchen. ...more

The whole concept was very original, and I was thrust into a very vivid world where Unicorn shifters existed, and a love story that didn't just happen based on insta-love, but it took some realistic time to develop.
The core of the writing was very rich. I believed all these characters were real, and I wanted to be inside this story. I was reading, and it felt like I was watching a movie because the author wrote the world so well I was so lost in it. The mytho behind the Unicorn shifters was brilliant. I understood it, I believed it, and that is the most important part of a fantasy romance--when you set the tone and create a believable vivid world that the reader can get lost in.
I felt connected to every character, and I wanted more when the story was over. I was so hoping we would get a sequel with Maggie finding a love, but alas, I don't think that is going to happen.
I really liked the villain, he was so super-villian eccentric perfect! The whole set up with the community was kind of brilliant, and I didn't expect what was coming at all. I felt it added a perfect dynamic to the tension pacing of the book! Honestly, in a world were we get very little horse/unicorn shifters I highly recommend this book! ...more
This story gives 'Mother of Dragons' a whole new meaning.
Now, I bet you get the totally wrong idea about this story based on the fact that it says, "This story gives 'Mother of Dragons' a whole new meaning.
Now, I bet you get the totally wrong idea about this story based on the fact that it says, "Reluctant Monster Breeding Erotic Romance". Yeah, I sort of did too. But when I realized the 'dragon' in question is in fact a really studly shifter that just maintains a few dragon qualities while in human form, I had to give this a try.
Call me sick, call me disturbed, call me a bit a freak--but ever since the movie Dragonheart I have had a thing for needing Dragons to shift into hunky men. Wrap it up in a pretty short quick read I got to giggle at while in bed late at night and I'm sold!
The pacing was done pretty well for a short story. The sex scenes were a bit amaturish for an erotica type story. The author is trying to push boundaries without actually going a big over the edge. I get that--I respect that actually. I thought her characters were endearing and I encourage this author to write a full length book set in this world because if I'm being honest--I was disappointed totally by the ending!
I mean, you don't even let the reader see her give birth to the egg?! Come on! All that build up and no paid reward!
I was shaking my head over here!
However, I did buy the rest of this authors dragon books and can't wait to read them! Ms. Martin has a clever way in which she spins a tale and she makes you actually like these quick little reads! ...more
It is so easy to push through these books and get invested in her characters. I think it is also the fact I think I am in love with Jenika's writing!
It is so easy to push through these books and get invested in her characters. I think it is also the fact that she sort of humanizes people that do something so violent for a living. I like people that take the anti-hero and make them relate-able.
I empathized with the characters in this book so much. They both have stories that are so heart-breaking. I was in tears through 50% of this book and I NEEDED them to be happy. Mostly with one another because I believe these two people were the only ones that could heal one another. I appreciated that it was raw and real for me based on what they had gone through. The clung to the connection these both shared.
I believe this is the 'heart' of The Underground Series.
I did have trouble with a few parts in the book moving slow for me. I'm not sure why the pacing stumbled a bit--but the breaks were put on the story and I was like whoa... what's going on here!
However, that didn't make me want to give up on it. I got through this strange slow point and pushed into the rest of the story which was very well written. It is hard to write a story with this background. Only because people are quick to claim you are 'glorifying abuse on women' when you write about women being abused. Jenika did great with this installment and I will always find it the heart of the series! ...more

I can't seem to get enough of them, but yet there doesn't seem to be enough books with them as the universe and that makes me a sad cat.
Then this pops up in my inbox as a review option! I was thrilled. I had gotten a taste of Lia from her other shifter series about a year ago I would say. I was worried how she would handle dragons. I am happy to say that Ms. Davis handled her dragon world VERY well.
With a unique fresh spin on Dragons I was totally sucked into the universe that Davis was creating for the reader. I feel hard and fast for each character in the book and boy oh boy do I want me some more dragons and soon!
I'm jumping ahead.
First there is Marcus. The main Alpha shifter in this book! He was hot, he was raw, he was so very dominant and I loved that. He managed to handle out sweet Gwen with just the right amount of kid gloves to open up her shelf. See, Gwen is damaged, I call it PTSD based on watching her parents being burned alive by the baddie. The baddie, oh yes the baddie. Some people say Gwen harped on her anxiety. I think it was just perfectly. People don't just grow out of trauma in two seconds just because a hottie dragon shifter shows up in your life, especially when it is DRAGONS that are you anxiety!
Davis handled Gwen as a character perfect! Literally, you watch her evolve and grow in just the proper pacing that made my heart break for her and I was also routing for her at the same time.
I can't wait for the second installment in this series!

I was expecting to kinda like this book--I needed something different This book kind of came out of no where and walloped me in the back of the head.
I was expecting to kinda like this book--I needed something different that sounded like it had a unique premise.
Well, upon book hoarding on netgalley I found it.
This book threw me totally for a lope.
So, we are basically taken into a fantasy where Warlocks rule, and women are treated with all the respect of a pet rabbit. Yet, without them, and the power of their blood, there would be no Warlocks. They are the carriers of the magic. Apparently, this is only one part of the fantasy world these characters are living in. We are told after about 20% that not all countries treat women the way Chardonia does.
I am not sure people read this book fully, or they chose to read what they wanted to.
So, Serena comes from a very well bred magic bloodline. So of course her blood is gonna be potent. She is sold, um, yes, SOLD to the highest bidding Warlock for her hand in marriage to baby be a baby making machine. Well, we have a bit of great thing here with Serena. She is innocent and doe-eyed, YES! But chick has fire in her veins along with that all powerful magic.
Enter Zade, who ends up winning her hand in marriage when her, well, lets call him, her Fiance because I can't use profanity in my reviews on Amazon, dies in a magic tournament. So Zade wins it all that Thomas owned, including Serena.
The author actually did a fantastic job of building the plot. It never went too far, and it actually made Serena a stronger character by the end. The book is one in a series. I think if the author would have changed the whole world and years of predisposed thinking by the end of the book, I would have hated it. I would have been, "WHAT! Oh, suddenly all pig-headed men don't want to treat women like crap because the law says they can?"
But the author didn't do that. Which I very much appreciated.
Now, let me talk about Zade for a moment. Zade is this countries exception because he is from somewhere else. Another countries. He has a secret but I'm not telling lol. Second, it kills him that he has to act like a pig-headed mule in public and always makes sure once they are not in public that Serena is ok--I mean hello the man bends every rule possible for her in the end! Yeah, I would say he is pretty stand up guy in a world full of a-holes!
The only, and I literally mean the ONLY issue I had with this book, was I didn't understand how women could be the ones that keep magic in the bloodline, yet they can't do any magic. That made NO sense to me how these women could be that powerful, charge the men at marriage, and yet they have no skills to perform the same magic. I just hope this element is explained or remedied in future books.
I loved the world that this author created, I picked up the book and couldn't put it down from beginning to end and read it in one day! I can't wait for book two!

I mean all that seems to be out there is these books with human sex trafficking in them.
Yeah, that's not really a fantasy. To some--eh, Ok, but Lolita managed to give is a pseudo kidnapping tail that spins into the really well constructed romance, which some of the HOTTEST BDSM scenes I have ever read in my entire life!
OH EM GEE!
If I had been Naya--and I was taking my hulking Menace--and he showed me his playroom, and he said, "Oh, come here I will show you how good it can be, trust me?" I would be on my knees FOREVER TO HIM! Ms. Lopez managed to give me a wicked taste of BDSM writing that I had lost all faith in. It was beautifully written, I got turned on, my whole body caught fire, and I demanded hot lovin' from my husband!
To top off the cake?
Menace is kind of a hot humanoid alien man! That's like my ultimate nerd girl fantasy right there! I mean, hot alien AND he's a Master on top of that. He is an oh so yummy one also!
The only thing that sort of jarred me from the story was hot quickly Naya accepted the lifestyle. I expected a bit more fight out of her--while at the same time giving him some benefit of the doubt, it was all very easy. Yes, ok, if it were me, I would have been SO EASY! But I didn't come from the harsh background that Naya did. She was borderline abused all her life and left on the streets to survive. I thought Menace was written fantastic! He was just enough Dominant male to make me lick my lips and he was also uber caring and careful with how far he pushed Naya's limits.
I thought Lopez did an amazing job with the world building! By gods I believed this planet existed! I was like, "Yes, Please, I shall go there!"
All in all this was a great BDSM Sc-fi romance read and I will be eating up the rest of Lolita's books!

I wThis story was such a pleasant surprise to me! I was hooked right out the gate. From page one I was like--Oh, Demons! I'm in this for the long run!
I was following the story of Sariel--I have to admit--she got on my nerves from time to time. Yes, the poor sweet thing is tossed into a reality that no one could possibly imagine. And where she would make impressive ground in the heroine department, she could get really self loathing and just fall back twenty steps. She had zero confidence half the time. I kind of blame her up bringing--so in actuality she was written very well as a character. I can't blame her for being down on herself when most people were like, "Oh, its ok little girl," and would just give her a pat on the head and tell her where to go, what to wear, and how to act.
She broke some ground for me when she was 'training' I didn't quite get Alexander. By the end I wanted her to tub the hunky shifter dude. Even Mywar was a better option. I think they all saw the 'woman' and not the 'girl' that Alexander couldn't get over.
It was a story that broke through my defenses and I couldn't put down. I wanted more and then the book just ended and then I was screaming at the book for more. It just ends! Well, we get a conclusion--I was happy about that. But we got so much implied romantic build up with not even wetting the pallet of the readers--which, I think could have been done better.
If I had one complaint throughout the whole story, it was the dialogue. I mean honestly. There were not contractions to be found in the speech. I'm sorry but a chick being college age isn't gonna talk without using slang, and she literally never did! I think the author needs a few stronger beta readers to just refine some of those tiny elements.

Not I, I say!
Zombie Lust is one of those stories I went into thinking this could either be really really creepy bad, or just so awesome I had to share it with the world. Well, I am very happy to report that this is one of those stories that I was so happy with, I can share it with the world and all my reader fans! Sable Grey managed to take a very popular genre, mix it with some steamy erotica, toss in a hint of the taboo, and then roll with it so smooth I felt like I was hit with a quickie and left panting and smiling after.
Zombie Lust is not a long story. We are maybe looking at forty some pages. The whole thing is a set up to, technically a Menage scene. They aren’t really two guys humping Amanda, but one is doing his fair share of touching of naughty bits that I can safely say that three people are involved in the debauchery. Lucas is our resident Zombie for this read, but he is a different kind of zombie. Does he eat people… Oh, yes he does. But his hunger for rough sex overshadows his need to devour human flesh—enter Amanda, hot, horny, rubbing her own naughty bits to get his attention and WHAM! Sable knocks you over the head with a wicked hot sex scene!
I think I want more of this story though.
Yep, when I think about it I want more! I like Lucas. Sable is really good at developing characters in a really small space. Lucas is likable, poor Joe the bartender is likable in a aww come lick me, kind of way, and Amanda could be a hoe, but we like her anyways because she has a no apologies sort of way of doing things.
Recommended quick sexy erotica! Well written, and paced! Give us more Zombies, Sable! ...more

I mean seriously, it is intense to the day time soap opera power.
Now, some people hate the serial. I happen to enjoy the serial because I know it had slim to no chance of ending and I HATE ENDINGS! Kinda like Doctor Who, I feel like I should rip the last page out of a book so it never has to end!
Anyways, we are following the story of Avery. Avery is struggling through college, with a ill paying job and a crap car, and very little time on her hands. Then she meets Mister hot stuff. Now, the author really kicks us in the rear with Mr. Sean Ferro here. I mean, it is almost not fair because he is kind of perfect. Like honestly, he is a really nice dude, he helps her out more than once, and is great with light, clever banter.
Then, he ends up being a dude who buys virgin hookers. But HEY! He buys HIGH END virgin hookers. I wanted to kick and scream and throw my dang Nook across the dang room!
But I haven't even told you the best part. HOW Avery knows our 'hero' buys virgin hookers. You see, her bestie is a high priced call girl. Who takes her to her employer so she can have more money, and be a high priced call girl too.
Heck, where were all my high priced call girl friends when I needed cash!
I'm kidding.
Anyways. Our Mr. Ferro seems to really like our girl, of course she keeps the fact that she is newbie call girl from him, so when she shows up as his 'virgin conquest' he's not pleased.
The book ends making you scream a little but also lighting that fire for you want to move onto the next book.

I have to say, that I am a huge fan of the ‘mating heat’ part of shifter books. Only because it forces souls to meet and connect on that primal, authentic animal level, it is raw, and if done right, totally hot. I gotta say, this book gets it sooooo very right.
Not only were we confronted with a dueling mated pair, but a conflict that was so intense that you were totally feeling for Cait right out of the gate. I mean it was infidelity—in mate pairs. Yeah, I was so on Cait’s side with this one. Then some inner dialogue took place and then we see that there was nothing unfaithful it was a set up…
Oh, yes a set up.
So, what are two hot in heat mated beasts to do? Well, mate of course! And so they did, and boy was it a hot smoldering scene of yummy, the storyline had some meat to it as well. We had to clear up the misunderstanding, and deal with a possible kidnapping in the climax of the story. For a short read The Sweetest Torture managed to make me a fan of Ms. Bonilla. I instantly went and grabbed some of her books in the series she has out and can’t wait to read the rest! I highly recommend this quick, sexy read for any shifter fans! ...more

R.L. Stine…
This was the first book I ever read by him. I didn’t realize there were books out there that were for my age group that had some kissing, heavy petting, and a totally crazy psycho serial killer. Not to mention the beach house built on a time warp! Hello! For a twelve year old that was pretty amazing and graphic. In this story we follow two groups of teenagers. One group is in 1956, and the other is 40 years into the future. Basically, you are trying to figure out who the crazy one is, why he is crazy, and how can they stop him before he kills every teenager in this beach town.
R.L. Stine has a very simple way of making stuff scare the crap out of you. He doesn’t dose you with prose or over woven storylines. He’s basic, follows a formula, and makes her suck in a breath and itch for more. I like to call him the master of young adult fiction because at the moment it is so absorbed with paranormal romance love triangles. He gives the young adult section that edge for the readers that want a little bit of edgy slathered in death and gore. In a world where the bad guys are just the bad guys and the good guys do die, R.L. Stine will always hit a home run with me and this book! ...more

I realized its really handy to listen to an audio book while I do busy work like graphics, blogging, and all that other stuff since I can't actually read. The Selection has been on my list for ages. Finally, on a lazy weekend I started it knowing my daughter could listen to it with me. This was a different dystopian type tale. I mean it has its moments of harsh reality like all of them do, and its a bit odd that they have to go through this whole Selection process. Think Hunger Games meets The Bachelor because the dates and how they talk is SOOOO like the Bachelor but the whole rating system and when they got cleaned up for the Prince. I have to admit I'm not favoring Maxon. He had these incredible moments of sweetness that made me go awwwwww. Then he was all mean about the Celeste thing. I mean yeah, he explains that its because he's got pressure later. But then he's whining that he's sick of being told what to do. But dude. America told you she's a a-hole, she's an a-hole. I guess it's cheaper to keeper. Oh, and it will lead to more drama in the books lol. I don't believe he kissed the one chick on the roof. I think that's a lie. It seemed out of character for him based on his kiss with America.
At the moment I'm digging Aspen. Don't like the name so much but he's willing to fight. I wonder if Maxon knew he had competition if he would be as aggressive. At times America got on my nerves but I think that was more the way the narrator played her. She seemed to keep America very monotone and the rest of the characters when they would speak seemed to have more color. I'm starting to notice that narrators make or break a books when you listen. The book ended on a slight cliffhanger type ending with Aspen laying down the game, Maxon being a little bit passive, and America willing to give it a shot with him. Personally, I don't think she's gonna cope well because I think Celeste is going to be around until the end and I don't know if I can cope with that. If she is I might have to stop reading lol

I am just now getting to the review. I was worried that I would forget or need to reread the book in order to review it. I am happy to say that this was not the case. This was my first ‘mature young adult’ books. I didn’t really know what to expect going into a book with that label. I was worried that it would glorify sex and a young age and make it acceptable in this day and age. I mean, let’s face it, teen sex happens. Sixteen and Pregnant is an example of that glaring fact.
However, this story handled the mature issue so well!
I was left with feeling heavily for all these characters even though I was well out of the range of high school. I graduated over twelve years ago, yet, here I was totally relating to Sarah, the main character. Her fears, her needs, her tension, and her hang ups—which I have come to realize that teenagers tend to have the same sort of hang ups no matter who they were. Angel would get on my nerves to the point I wanted to beat him up in the school quad at noon! Then again, so many high school guys have this same, ‘Girls and boys aren’t just friends’, it mostly stems from the fact that they can’t be friends with girls these particular guys. Then they met a girl, like Sarah that they can pretty much be both with. I loved this story, despite some of the clichés that were dabbed in for effect. Let’s face it, Reyes gets teenagers spot on.
I highly recommend Forever Mine to lovers of young adult romance! ...more

Lesbian shave party books are my dirty little secret fantasy. Well, they weren’t, but apparently they are now. This was one of the dirtiest, porno inspired, and lickable reads I have ever had the pleasure to set my eyes to. I liked it. For some odd reason this story did it for me on one of the dirtiest levels possible. I am picky about my lesbian reads. I need one of the females to be in charge. That is so hot I tingle all over. In this story we got multiple women, talking during sex and making demands of other women, grabbing hair, and demanding sexual pleasure from another woman. You can’t really go wrong with that. It was hot, it was nasty, and it made me tingly all over and that is what these books are set out to do.
I read erotica shorts, for the same reason I still watch Zane’s Sex Chronicles on Cinemax—because it’s hot! I rate each book on the scale that they are meant to be ranked. This book is on the hot lesbian erotica scale. And on the hot lesbian erotica scale goes. This was so sizzling; I was panting and even felt myself get a little damp. Therefore, I totally related to Goalie Interference. Not only because I got it. When you are a hockey player, you have two choices in men: a ref or another hockey player. That limits the pool of quality a huge amount, and I don’t say that in a bad way, I say it in the way that you get to know all these men like brothers. They sweat, they smell, they tell dirty jokes, they take you out to strip clubs to get drunk. They make you one of the men and it is really hard to pull of sexy with that set up. So, with all that factored in, I instantly related to Tarah.
The set up for this 1Night Stand book was entertaining and amusing. I found myself giggling and I wanted to thump Scott on the head a few times, because yes, he does play off the roll of cocky hockey player to well. I almost wonder how much contact these two women had with actual hockey players because they were spot on.
