I had been following the author for a few months on FB and seen her post updates to the status of her book coming out. She looked like she was promising, and she wrote erotic romance. I am not at all the vanilla kinda girl, however, any story with a naughty librarian just pushes at my naughty role play button and I had to click buy now on that kindle link. I have had it awhile, but realized I needed to start breaking ground in some of my personal collection. So, this one grabbed at me, and I decided to read. I am so glad I did!
Like I said, I am not vanilla in the least. I am also a picky reader when it comes to sex, romance, and the whole hearts and flowers rundown. This story wasn’t just well written for me, but it had a great flow that kept me reading. I wanted to keep reading, and I really cared about Amber and Jax. I don’t fuss about length of a story, so long as I really like the read. And the moment Jax showed he had an impulse for some dominance I was in it for the long haul. That man was oozing hunky Alpha. Yes, he would take the vanilla road more or less, but allowing her the control sometimes. But I admire women that can get on top and take the reins because I so can’t do that! It is just not in me, and to read about a woman doing it, apparently it just lights my fire. It had a great contemporary conflict that couples today could really possess. I mean people don’t like being lied to, even over little things. Trust is huge, and I can see her inner conflict; also finding a man that can take care of her just as much as she can take care of herself.
I really loved Lacey’s voice as an erotic romance author and I have already took a grab at another book by this author in my review sites folder! I hope I get a chance to read another book by this author! I really recommend this to people that like a quick, sexy, contemporary read!

I enjoyed Emika as a female lead, because she wasn't stupid -- but she also wasn't ridiculously start, and over the top able to figure everything out super quick. I found the blooming love in the book to be subtle and i actually wasn't repulsed by it. The pacing of the story was quick and easy to follow. As someone that isn't relatively savvy on all the gaming terms and gaming in general, i was easily able to keep up with everything.
i have to give a nod to the author at the end. once everything was revealed, i enjoyed how the lead female responded. it was real, natural, and oddly very relevant to the world today. i highly recommend anything written by this author. i have yet to be disappointed by her. ...more

It was a big harsh right off the bat but I was oddly titillated lol. So I kept on going. And i have to say for a quick read this was totally hot and I loved every second of it. I think I have this thing for naughty cops though. If I'm being honest every naughty cop book I've read I've ended up kinda loving. It is so strange because I'm also afraid and hate cops because they used to harass my friends and I because we were the 'goth kids' in town. Maybe its some odd subconcious dominant thing, who knows but all I know is that this was a hot one, I read it twice, I might read it again and boy did I like Dalton! I kinda want more Dalton. It is his writing style and his characterizations that just make me happy to be reading one of his books. Now. I'm writing this book totally doped up on pain killers so it might make totally no sense lol
But as a whole I enjoyed this story. I wasn't sure about alot of the characters, then Radar made a good point about each and every one of them, and why they like one another despite their short comings and it was a true testament to what friendship should really be. It's funny, because my daughter was going through and issue with a really good friend, and the girl put 'conditions' on their friendship. Being that she's only 10 years old I have to give her tools to totally end that friendship and I was proud that my daughter did. I believe that this girl would've destroyed my daughter's self esteem while her parents just sat back and laughed and claimed the girl didn't know what she was doing, while talking about how mature and clever she was with manipulating them.
This story showed true friendship. That there isn't conditions, you are just there for one another, no matter what or how one another are acting. I can't wait for my daughter to be old enough to really read these and get these stories and show her there was nothing wrong with letting that friendship go. I can tell she's mourning it but she also, like I said, found new friends in the process that still enjoy the things she does. The whole journey for me was about just that, friendship, and life, and growing apart. Thank you John Green for another fantastic book.

ShThis one seemed to tie everything up a bit better. I have to give it marks on being more exciting. However, Monroe is still riding my annoyed side. She seems to take thing for granted, not understand what is happening around her, and she wanted something one moment, then not the next, then literally just left. I was like ummmm what. I get that it was for pacing and for the arc, I knew it when I read it but I understood Koenraad more than Monroe, I just felt like she didn't 'get it' at all. Then we have the 'mean girl' to deal with. Seriously? Someone can't just go in and kill her? I mean, "Opps! Someone got harpooned, that happens in the big wide open ocean!" Just sayin'. As a whole I think once again Monroe needs to grow a pair, I think Koenraad needs to be harder on her instead of disappointed, and maybe she needs to see her real threat. I'm kinda annoyed with Koenraad and the thing he's searching for. I get it but I don't. I'm a parent, but seriously... after what he did... yeah. I am hoping so dearly that this all turns out great and in book four Monroe finds her inner buffy and puts down a nasty you know what shark shifter.

This is a series I have to catch up with my daughter because she's on book six and she wants to buddy read. In the AR book system this is rated as 3.4 which is nearly halfway through third grade. This was a quick, yet clever and quite engaging read. I liked how each girl had a very solid personality, I found myself engaging more than others. Each fairy was adorable and I could see them in my head from the movies. Tinkerbelle seemed a bit more edgy. You know, the tink we grew to love from the original Peter Pan. She was sassy, quarky, and quick to huff but when push came to shove she came through for this age group.
I did think calling humans 'clumsies' was a bit odd, but original, and something that middle grade readers could identify with. I kept having to remember this book was geared for 8 year olds at times, but it kept me wanting to read more, get to the trouble, and then solve it all with a life lesson and good ending. I'm still a little unclear on how 'blinking' works, I'm not sure kids would care, but I would imagine that the author would be abl to better explain it to a childlike reader when she was so good and bringing to life the rest of Pixie Hallow. Remember, she writing a pre-determined reality, while still giving a bit of her own spin on it.
What I would like to see in this series: Growth in the girls. Time will have to pass and I know how my daughter was from age 8-10 and I hope the author reflects those changes because it will help the younger reader to keep engaged in the story arcs. I would like the life lessons and trials to become just a little bit tougher.
I highly recommend this for ages as young as second grade. If they like the Tink movies they will really enjoy these adventures.

I have a list to the moon and back but I couldn't resist grabbing it from the library overdrive ebook lending because there was NO WAIT! That is technically unheard of in the overdrive department. It took me longer than I thought because I discovered Jill has a habit of info dumping and she's in her characters heads ALOT. So I was absorbing a lot of very rich personalities in a very horrible situation. It would appear I love disaster books. And not just ones that are disasters. I love me some dystopian and zombie books too. Plagues are awesome too.
This was my first earthquake book.
Why did I have to grab this one?
Because I was born and raised in Southern California, and I have a facination with the world moving below my feet. This book was HUGE. I mean it was brilliantly executed on the part of the author. She doesn't wait, it was very much like World War Z were you see happy shiny and then BAM! No more happy shiny. People die. It is rough, people are fighting for their lives when a devestating earthquakes hits San Diego. You see, this is all a reality for anyone living in California. The world is always moving and we are just sand up top waiting to be sifted around when Mother Nature decides to be a serial killer.
Every emotion in this book was raw, well played, and sucked me in. She didn't cut corners, she didn't make this unbelievable, she truly gave us a legit action/adventure/disaster/romance read all in one effing book and I'm blown away! Jill can write! Honestly, the only complaint I have is there were some slow moments right before a tense build up to action that I thought could've been cut. But that being said, I got what the author was trying to do. On top of all of that you have a hero with a secret and a dark past. Two of the most unlikely people falling in love. I think it added to the depth and intrigue of the story.
The author seems to be setting up the scene for other characters to get their HEA. I don't see Penny and Owen ending any time soon and I can't WAIT for them to see each other again. Sam is the next book. He was probably the character I least connected with and I'm not sure if I 'care' persay. Although we have to thank him for getting our boys out of the pen!

Okay, now that I have that off my chest I would like to take about how I did totally enjoy this book more than the first one. I like how there was no time lapse therefore we were able to see the pair progress as a couple together instead of apart. This book had a ton more frustrating moments and I would get urked every time someone acted like she was sleeping with her twin when she would mention Nate in a romantic way. The author did a fantastic job of slowly unfolding the plot with the step-father. It was a slow burn that we got a little bit more glimpses of and then BAM! Sucker punch to the face and I was like OH MY GOD! Then everything blew up and it was done in such perfect pacing.
The characters were a bit more fleshed out in the book. I always relate to the nerdy, home body types because I'm like that. And then the nerdy girls gets the hot guy it works even better for me. Brynn was kind-hearted, smart, and willing to give everyone a chance. She doesn't spend her time slut-shamming at all in the book and I loved that about her. There were so many moments where this could've fallen into the new adult trap but it was very unique and I enjoyed it. Nate for me had a lot of redeeming to do once we saw a glimpse of the real him. I am happy to report that he became the man we all wanted him to be. Alpha, sweet, possessive, and redeemable.
I can't wait for more Stepbrother books from Colleen!

I was kinda unsure about reading this one at first. But it kept popping up on my Kindle unlimited recommends. So, I decided to take a chance, and I was in the mood for bears so I dove right in. What a totally unique and awesome world that Mrs. Vale has created. This was a totally different spin on the shirt world and I love how believable and bright that the author brought it all too life. It was fun, dangerous, exciting, and sexy.
Olivia is a woman that is trying to get over some poor decision making in her life. She goes out in search of a bit of freedom and answers. Setting out on a short camping trip she gets caught up in a storm and saved by a mystery man. Enter Cody. Oh Cody, hunky, stupid alpha Cody. The poor guy was dealing with being a bear shifter all in his own not even realizing that there is whole clans that he could've gone to instead of living in the woods. He was all kinds of grumpy and that sooo worked for me when a bear shifter. He did do some stupid dude stuff, but I honestly think that it worked, considering how he'd been living for a considerable amount of time. I loved how the author weaved in The Den and I actually really want to see some more in that whole world and all those characters. There wasn't one character that wasn't vivid and brought to life. I would love to get a story about Ben and the Clan leader most of all. I love me some big bad leader bears! So, if the author happens to read this, wink-wink, I would LOVE to see more of these characters!
If you are into shifters, bear shifters to be exact, I think this is a fantastic read to feed that genre need!

I hate to admit how catty and cutthroat this author/blogger deal is, but seriously all this would totally happen.
I liked Sarai from the moment she leaped out of the pages at me. She reminded me so much of myself. Being comfortable in her own home, with her books, and computer. Building her own blog and content to telling the world how she feels about books and all the things that go along with books. She was someone that sells themselves short, and doesn't count her own worth and I was so glad when instantly Gavin found her appealing. I love a man that can appreciate a woman falling flat on her face in front of him and see it as a moment of connection rather than mocking her. For Gavin being in the spotlight he was very down to earth when dealing with Sarai. I think the coming over for dinner was bigger than him initiating sex, but rather he knew how uncomfortable she was with all that spotlight and money. She is a simple girl, who needs enough in life.
You know, I had a friend like Sarai. I think most girls that are like Sarai have a Jenny. Someone who they basically live through and the Jenny's use to feel better about themselves because they know we don't think of ourselves as anything other than the sidekick. And just like Sarai, when I started to get the attention, when people didn't pay as much attention to my Jenny--I lost contact. So, I personally related to Sarai in every possibly way. The only difference is, I'm not just a reader, I'm a writer also-so that's double the introvert.
The story had a great pace and through all the shocks and the nasty comments in the 'blogger' world, I wasn't surprised but it, I actually felt a bit of shame at the fact that if this were to really happen, this same thing would accrue. With a blogger saying it was improper conduct, and other people calling her a hump and dump. Women are cruel and I hope that women not only enjoy this book, but they open their damned eyes when they read it. Its a lesson in the fiction. I'm dying for the second part! I know that Sarai and Gavin will come up on a little bit of trouble--but that's okay. After a little bit of trouble I hope that Sarai gets all that she desires.

I really thought that I would really want to dive into the next book in this series because it ends in a 'cliff-hanger', but I need a break. V. M. Black is taking my soul on an emotional roller coaster that I have a book hang-over with and I haven't even reached the end of this serial series. They are all out, all available but after Dorian's last move I am left in tears, pain, and feeling so much for Cora emphatically. I don't know how to feel at the end of this and I really wouldn't blame Cora for running for the hills.
At this point, I have to give Black a huge amount of credit as an author because I'm really feeling the characters and the story. But for me, I feel like Dorian should 'know better', because of his age and experience around humans. If he doesn't know, I really hope that the very large amount of human that Cora still is, will wake him up. She's already said, "I don't love you. But I need you." And Dorian didn't flinch at that. If you are going to bond and mate to someone, if human's are the only way that you can even breed I feel like we should be the higher commodity, if you will. Human's should be the golden calf. I'm so hurt by what Dorian has done at this point I need to walk away for a few days, read a few other books then go back to this series and end and and HOPE under the literary gods that this all ends up for the best. I really wish this was written in a dual POV. I feel like its in the disservice a bit to not get his introspect and see where he his coming from. I do believe with how well Black writes it would be a bit overwhelming for the reader, but his expressions of regret and almost pain at what he's done to Cora at the end of this installment isn't enough for the more simple reader. You know, the ones that want all the answers in book one and don't want to wait for the story to unfold? I can see his motivations at this point. I am just hoping that he ends up loving Cora enough to understand her as well, or he runs a really big risk of losing her.
This story just keeps getting more and more interesting. I have theses push and pull emotions towards both Cora and Dorian. On one hand Cora acts likeThis story just keeps getting more and more interesting. I have theses push and pull emotions towards both Cora and Dorian. On one hand Cora acts like she should in this situation, but then she's really mean to Dorian, when he kinda saved her life. Yes, it was at risk to her life as a whole but she could've gone, "Thank you, I'm forever grateful." And then left. But she compacts on the attitude. The beginning of this book I was wishy-washy about Cora. I honestly didn't like her, then she got very real very fast. And toss in a threat on the life with the anti-hero vampire saving her and I'm all over that!
Dorian. Oh, Dorian, will you ever truly love Cora aside from the 'bond'? I feel like that needs to happen if any of this is going to work. He has these moments of someone truly caring--then he ruins it--with his mouth. But that's not a bad thing. It makes the whole thousand year old vampire thing work even better in this book. I don't expect vampires to 'love' but to possess and own what is theirs. It is just how they are. Sadist, cruel, and possessive. However, the author isn't writing this vampire Dracula-style. She's writing him with some form of compassion with the whole, we don't need to kill ten-thousand to find our bond mate, research. But Dorian is working for me as much as I want to hit him like Cora lol
As a whole the story is driving forward at a great pace. The author is a brilliant writer. She pulls you into this grey-toned vampire world and sucks you in even if you have moments of ragey aggression towards the leads. Which isn't a bad thing. She's making me FEEL when I read and that makes a good writer. She's also keeping that creep/dark feeling in the way she writes.
The ONLY thing that pulls me out of the story is the sex scenes. Yeah. She uses proper terms for all the body parts and that is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. I figure you either go balls to the walls or you don't use them at all. Bodice-rippers of old managed to make some of the most graphic scenes without using any anatomy in their books. Its when you start calling anatomy things that my doctor would that the sex becomes like a how-to video and I'm skimming through it. It is a shame, because the story has the potential to truly explode if she pulled all that out and if she's uncomfortable using more easy flowing terms, she could just use nothing at all and it would keep me in my happy romance reader head.
But like I said, for fans of vampire romance, this is a must read.

Yes, they have the head strong heroine fighting against the obvious attraction to the hunky alien who is totally reluctant to even like a human, much less date one.
This had that underlying story. However, the author built a very real world plot line behind the cliche teen romance and that is what endeared the story to me. Adding in a brooding hottie is just icing on the cake for me. There is something very endearing about building a very real sci fi world around teen romance. You get invested in the characters so you care about the world around them. I actually liked all the main characters in the story, even the stupid BFF that went all teenage cray-cray.
I hate waiting, but at the same time, I'm glad I have so much to read and this is just another world that an author has created that has left me wanting more!

This would be my second Blue story and I have to say that this is one of my favorite books/series to date. I am writing this review after reading the whole series and I am going to honest, this book one is one of the most sexually tense and frustrating books I have ever read in my life. First off, Kira is a character that you can relate to and get on board with. You sympathize with her and I am sorry Alpha hottie Alex, but we are on her side with your weird push/pull brooding.
Kira is back with her three best friends in the whole world after leaving after a fight. She was made to choose between her boy friend at the time and her best friend. At first we are only given this little tid-bit of information. Slowly, we open up to the whole situation and how, honestly, if I was Kira I would've left too.
Then you have the three awesomely hot nerds. I have casted them all in my head FYI. Am I the only one that sees Tom Hiddleston as Ollie.

I had read Masters previous series about Formula One and although I thought the male was written amazing, the I had trouble with her female lead. I have NEVER read anything by Celia Loren before, so this was me diving in face first with no one to catch me. But I am a big girl, I can swim. So dive in I did, and let me tell you I couldn't put the book down.
I loved this whole story. I loved the dark, I loved the characters, I loved the fluff moments, and I loved the love. Bane is a well written alpha male that when he knows what he wants he grabs it, snogs it, and doesn't let it go. Ava is a female lead that doesn't just roll over and show the big baddies her belly. She fights. Through beatings, abuse, and torment, she fights and does her best to try and get herself home no matter what the consequences may be. I love stories about demented clubs and women getting trapped. They have a whole Eyes Wide Shut vibe to me.
This was fiction that made me BELIEVE the fiction the authors were created. I never once rolled my eyes, or gave up on the idea of the story. It bloomed and exploded in my mind and I was just this innocent woman along for the ride and grinning (at times crying) the whole way.
The pacing of the book was perfect. The author didn't give to much info dump, or drama. They unbuckled and told the story with a brilliant flow that had me biting my nails and totally hot. It had been awhile since I read smexy scenes that made me ache. And oh boy was I aching. Maybe I just clicked with Bane and Ava, who knows. I was in love with their love.

There is no one really that sort of pushes conventional norms in the young adult/new adult realm and gives us the same vibe the good old 80's teenage movies do. Douglas's books I can read over and over again. I am moved to tears, laughter, and fear.
I have to say that Rival didn't do quite the same things as Bully did for me. There was just something about Jared and Tate that made you weep deep down to your soul. However, there was a wonderful and unique dynamic to Madoc and Fallon. I was most impressed with how different they were to Tate and Jared, which made me so happy. Most young adult books are very samey. Their characters are cut out copies and very few changes to the forumla are made.
Yet Penelope gave us fresh tension and lip bitting humor along with the deep heart break she is so good at giving the reader. There is just something that hurts so good about these books. I am dying for the next one. I don't want these to end but I know they will....more

We have more gargoyles and more demons, and we get to see our girl a bit younger. I have to say that after this installment I have no idea how to feel about anyone anymore. I was so angry about all the prejudice in the first book, but in this prequel novella everyone seems to have a softer opinion of Layla in this version. I feel like they pity her also, which isn't really all that good either.
The love was palpable with the lead characters, it is kinda bad but I cared more about Layla and Zayne and why we should be #TeamZayne. I have to say he wins me over just a little bit.
I love how we got to see how Jasmine and Dez got their HEA, I am still not sold on the sister and Zayne. They touch more on her infatuation and for me it isn't real enough. Layla/Zayne/Roth are very real, you can feel the sexual tension and love.
I am kinda dying for book two.

It is more an Lore was quite an interesting read for me, as well as a nice change from a few reading choices I had just made before diving into this. It is more an anthology of fairy tale retellings. I have to say from the opening story to the closing story they were very beautiful and magical retellings. You can go very wrong when you mess with a world created by another genius. It can become a horrible train wreck. But I found that each story in its own way almost improved on the original. The character were all very well written and the new world created around them were very much brought to life and I enjoyed them. I have to say though, the first story was my favorite. I have a soft spot for mermaid, and the lead female just came off to me as so strong and selfless. She was independent and didn't allow herself to be walked all over. Strong and knowing exactly what she wants even after falling for someone, she still made the sacrifice.
I recommend this book to anyone that likes fairy tales. They are new twists that still hold true to the stories they were evolved from without going to flowery.

Finally, all the lies or rather hidden truths were unveiled in this last installment. And it didn't just come out at once, it came out in a tidal wave that I thought was a bit--well, overdone. I don't think she would have game a crap so much about the Ellie sleeping with Xander stuff if she had known about it outside of the other thing she found out. Because how can you really blame someone for doing something before they met you? It is a bit unfair and actually very immature.
I did like this installment better because I felt bad for Xander oddly enough. I think most people are going to be like "Oh poor Avery!" Nope, not really. I think it was how she treated everyone on the onset of the situation that put me off to her. As a whole their relationship is very volatile and Xander needed to get help for the whole obsessive controlling issues first and foremost. It would have been nice for him to throw his hands up and be like "LATER!" I kinda wanted to see that so she had to come to him. I cried for him in the book nearly the whole way. Avery was a therapist knew his past, knew his issue, and used it all to shove it in his face to make him suffer.
I don't know, the story as a whole rubbed me very weird I was crying and I was annoyed, and I don't know. I like how they left it as 'they are still building' rather then some delicate little bow wrapped up all nice.
I'll tell you what I do want to see, since we are on a roll with the whole crazy relationships. Ellie and Ian hooking up! Oh that would be a delight wouldn't it?!
