If you read Skin DeepI almost forgot how much I enjoyed this series, I really need to get back to it and not wait another two years to do it.

If you read Skin Deep then you know Jack, he is Nate's father, and if you've read Striking Distance then you should remember Janet FBI Special Agent Killeen and the fact that Jack threw her off his property while she was helping with the investigation of Laura Nilsson's kidnapping. To say that their encounter this time around was different would be a mild statement.
Janet was driving to a resort for some much needed R&R when her car swerves off the road and becomes stuck in the snow, thankfully she is prepared because it takes almost 24 hours before Jack West finds her....she plowed into a fence on the Cimarron Ranch which is the West Family's Ranch. Jack was much friendlier this time around, maybe it was the circumstances in which they met or maybe it was the fact that she was a damsel in distress, either way it was nice to see that he would treat her with respect and care especially after she had been through with being shot.
I loved Jack and Janet together and their 18 year age difference didn't factor into anything, it was mentioned a couple of times but it wasn't harped on, but what I loved most was the fact that Jack didn't treat Janet any different because she now needed a cane to assist her in walking he let her do things on her own and only lent a helping hand when she asked for it. I also enjoyed that Nate, Megan, and Emily were in this book and we were able to catch up with the couple and see what changes were happening with them.
This wasn't entirely a love story in fact a major part of the story was about someone shooting Jack's prized stallion right there on the ranch. YIKES! Janet was able to help out in an unofficial capacity with the investigation and she never stepped on any toes she was mindful that this was not her ranch or even her investigation but it was great seeing her back doing a bit of what she loved before she was shot nearly a year earlier.

Michelin is a country music star but he keeps himself so grounded that you would never believe he is as big of a name as he is, and just to prove that point, when Michelin meets Lucky for the first time Lucky has no idea who he is. I enjoyed the shyness and a bit of insecurity that Michelin had when he was interacting with Lucky at the club where he works as a go-go dancer. The chemistry was great between the two and the fact that they were so different from the other made them work great together because they balanced one another out.
This is the third book in the Perfect Harmony Series but it can definitely be read as a standalone, which is what I did. I will go back and read the first to books when time permits, that being said I do not feel that I was lost at any part of the book, the only benefit that reading Treble Maker and Love Me Tenor prior to this one would be that you have some background on a few of the other characters in the story, but it does not take anything away for the story as a whole.

I have been waiting for Finn's story since I read about his accident in The Harder He Falls and I have to say that it was well worth the wait....Finn I have been waiting for Finn's story since I read about his accident in The Harder He Falls and I have to say that it was well worth the wait....Finn and Tanner are perfect together!
Tanner has returned home after an eighteen month deployment to a barrage of emails and texts from Rig (a partner at KICK) letting him know that Finn and Chris have been in a serious accident that left Chris dead and Finn in a coma. (This happened several months ago and now Finn is out of his coma and on his long road to recovery) so Tanner heads directly to Finn's house to see with his own eyes how the man he has secretly loved for years is really doing. [image]
Chris, Finn, and Tanner were as tight as brothers forming a family of their own that was accepting of everything, from each of them being gay to the fact that Tanner was part Korean (and was constantly the butt of racist jokes by other Marines). They did everything together while they served, so now that one of them was gone and Finn was seriously injured Tanner knew that he had to convey his love for Finn once and for all. Believe me when I say that this was not an easy task for him, growing up with the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy firmly in place with his family that were deep in the Military he never spoke about his preferences, although Finn and Chris knew that he preferred men. [image]
This story was hard to read at times, I actually had to put it down and walk away for a little bit, it was heartbreaking one moment and heartwarming the next. I am really, really, really enjoying this series and I cannot wait for the next book! If you haven't read any of the series they can each be read as a standalone but to get the full impact of all the men I would suggest reading the entire series starting with book 1 The Harder He Falls.

This is book two of the series but can easily be read as a standalone. I'm glad that I read the first book This One Moment because it gave insight to the other band members especially Nolan and Hailey's relationship.
Jared was twenty-one when when his girlfriend dropped the bomb that she was pregnant and had an abortion without his knowledge, she didn't even give him the opportunity to change his up and coming rock-star life to be a father, she just pulled the rug out from under him without a second thought. Now Fast-forward a few years, Jared is the lead guitarist with "Pushing Limits" and they are currently on a break from touring when he runs into his ex's little sister in the supermarket with her son that is around the same age that his child would be if things happened differently.
Logan was the sweetest little boy and stole the scenes that he was in. I loved the chemistry between Jared and Callie, it was easy to see that she had been harbouring feelings for him while he was dating her sister. You know they say that everything happens for a reason right?!? Well with this story you can easily see that Jared, Callie, and Logan were meant to be together at this point in time so maybe things actually do happen for a reason......

Kick is an outdoor adventure company that is run by former Marines, Grady has been brought in by his cousin Finn to become a guide for them and possibly a partner in the company. But then there is a horrible accident when Grady is guiding Finn and Chris in a white-water adventure in a new area they are looking to expand their adventures to. Finn is left in a coma while Chris has tragically lost his life. To say that Grady is in a bad place after this would be an understatement. Micah is a bartender at a leather club and he also volunteers his time at the hospital to read to patients and that is what he is doing when he meets Grady. Micah is reading to Finn when Grady comes for his daily visit. I would like to say that it was love at first sight but it really wasn't it was more of an attraction...but neither of them are looking for anything serious.
Grady and Micah are two guys with a lot of baggage but they are perfect for one another. This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster. I wanted to wrap Grady in a big hug and tell him everything was going to be ok one minute and then smack him up the back of his head the next. And Micah, oh boy he was just a big softy and every time he had a "brain blip" or got "Lost" my heart broke for him.
Rig and Ash are two interesting Partners in the company and I look forward to reading each of their books., but after reading the epilogue there is one person in particular I would really like to know more about. The Deeper He Hurts: A Kick Novel and The Farther He Runs: Kick are the next two books in the series and if they are half as good as this one was we are all in for a treat.

After reading almost 600 pages, I was still so engrossed in Rule, Jinx, and Laikyn's story, so much so that I wanted it to continue after I read the last page.
Rule and Jinx met as kids in a group home. They each have a different heartbreaking story of how they ended up there, but here we are two decades later, and they are still friends who live together and work together. Rule is known as the Hollywood Fixer, and Jinx helps him with the computer hacking that sometimes needs to be done. Three others work with them to "Fix" whatever the Hollywood Elite needs fixing, which leads Rule right to Laikyn's doorstep.

Tripp has been dodging Magnolia's advances for years, playing it off like it was nothing even though he was secretly dying to get his hands on her just like she wanted him to but guilt over something that had happened holds him back until one text has him snapping and taking matters into his own hands.
The chemistry between Tripp and Magnolia was great and I really enjoyed them together, I loved the names he called her and their bantering. What I didn't love, her ex, he was not only a thorn in her side but he was a menace to society I understand why the author had her go back with him for one night of drunken debauchery but I would have preferred if it was a stranger rather then Travis turning the pregnancy stick positive.

Malik and Avery are both former SEALs and now they work for A-List Security as bodyguards for celebrity clients, these two are so different yet so much alike it's easy to see why they get along so well.
I loved the sexual awakening between both men and what I loved even more was Avery's love for all things lace. I haven't read many books with that kind of kink but I really enjoy it and would love to see more of it.
The author has a content/trigger discussion for mild internalized homophobia, this is something that one of the men has to work through as he realizes he is indeed happy about spending time with a man...it's more along the lines of toxic thinking then homophobia in my eyes, but you may see it differently.
This was another great addition to the series which have all be light on angst and high one heat, this one even gives us a surprise visit from a couple from the OUT OF UNIFORM SERIES and it was great revisiting old friends again.
I would recommend this book to those that enjoy STEAMY MM Romances, Friends to Lovers Romances, Workplace Romances, Roommate Romances, Forced Proximity Romances, or Military Romances.

Skye is mute and has been since a terrible accident that occurred when she was a young child, we do find out what caused this and it was beyond devastating and we learn that being mute is more mental then physical. But it does not hold her back she has learned different ways of communicating what she wants from people especially her subs.
Tiger Roseland is one of the subs that Skye enjoys playing with at the club, they have a unique bond and that bond is something that he needs after his past reeks havoc on his present life.
I have to admit to putting this book down and walking away from it several times because it was at times difficult to get through, and that's the thing I love about Joey W. Hill's books, she writes with such a flair that you feel as if you are living right there in those pages while everything is unfolding so while in real life you may not be able to walk away from a situation that is making your heart hurt you can close a book for a little bit and then come back to it when you're ready. I will suggest not reading this book in public, not only are the sexy scenes HOT but there are plenty of times that you will find yourself with tears streaming down your cheeks without even realizing it.
Skye and Tiger are amazing together and while some horrible things had happened to make their relationship progress outside of the club I don't think I'd change anything about this story.
I would recommend this to those that enjoy STEAMY Contemporary Romances, BDSM Romances, Romances with Bikers, or Romances that have Main Characters with a Disability.

Piper runs away from Derek and Finn, but the guys aren't going to let her go that easily. When they return to fight for their girl, they find a box of letters that she had written to Archer. Make sure you have tissues handy because things get pretty emotional when they are reading the letters, which span the seven years of his disappearance, and she tells him everything, yes, everything.
Archer St. James was a person I have heard about in several books; how he went missing in a mission that went wrong and has since been presumed dead. Archer St. James was a person I have heard about in several books; how he went missing in a mission that went wrong and has since been presumed dead. But seven years later, Piper still holds on to the fact that she can feel his heart beating, so she knows he's alive. This story starts with the events that caused Archer's disappearance, and we see what a toll it has played on Piper's heart, especially as she goes through the letters and videos that he left for her in the event he was killed on a mission.
This isn't an easy time for Piper, but she does everything Archer sets out for her in each of his letters, which includes getting help at the practice, which is how she meets Derick. D and Piper have great chemistry, and even though she feels the pull, there is no way she will betray the man she knows is still alive.
Cherry left Darling Louisiana when she was just sixteen years old with her boyfriend and their unborn child, hoping for a better life3.5 Darling Stars
Cherry left Darling Louisiana when she was just sixteen years old with her boyfriend and their unborn child, hoping for a better life than the one they had growing up. After giving birth to a son with Special Needs Cherry soon found out that her dreams were not going to come true any time soon since her husband left her to raise their son alone as soon as he was born.
Cherry didn't have it easy that's for sure, now the mother of two (her daughter was conceived when Cherry was selling herself to make extra money to support herself and her son) was doing whatever she needed to keep a roof over their heads and food in her kids bellies when she receives a phone call letting her know that her mother passed away and left her the house she grew up in with all of the expenses paid on it for five years but she had to live in during that time before she could sell it. So back to the place she hated most she went.
I loved the writing of this story and it definitely has me wanting to read more of Mercedes M. Yardley work. As per usual I had some things figured out pretty quickly but I couldn't quite put my finger on who the Handsome Butcher was...yes you read that right. The killer was referred to as the Handsome Butcher, I disliked that name for soooo many reasons the main one being why would we refer to a person whom took children, killed, and dismembered them as handsome? Butcher I get, but Handsome???
I loved Cherry's relationship with both of her children especially with her son who has Autism. She loved him and did everything she possibly could to show him. It was a special bond that she shared with both of her children, and when the author gave us a few chapters from his POV it was precious.
I want to point out that this isn't a romance while there are some romantic aspects to it including a love triangle. This is a HORROR, I realize the majority of my reviews are for Romance Reads this one DOES NOT FALL INTO THAT CATEGORY. So if you enjoy Horror Reads then I would recommend this one to you but if you are looking for a Romantic Horror Read this isn't it.

I kid you not, she looked at me like I was crazy I just picked up my kindle and told her I got to a sad part of the book...and yeah she totally went on thinking I was crazy. And like I said I was only THREE CHAPTERS IN.
Evan and Kendall have a rocky past but no one knew what happened to cause them to divorce, including Kendall. When Evan finally tells her why he left her it was sooo sad, but things don't stay that way thankfully. They have some great moments together and while her family leaves a lot to be desired for, his family is right there to rally along and help them get back to what they once had and I totally loved that.
I knew these two would be explosive when they got back together. ...more

Roman is a reclusive fashion designer, he's so reclusive no one knows what he looks like....yes, this completely boggled my mind but I moved past it. He meets Sofi when she shows up to do an exclusive interview with him, this meeting was way to FSOG reminiscent for me in more ways than one...again I moved past it. Roman is taken with Sofi right away and calls her Butterfly, I found this to be a really cute term of endearment, so he offers her a job as his Muse and of course she accepts. This story has a LOT of angst, some of it felt unnecessary, and I wonder if there wasn't so much going on and we only had one or even two hurdle(s) to get past I may have enjoyed the story more.
Sofi and Roman's story is an age gap romance with a slow burn, even though they both have feelings for one another things don't progress for a very long time. They have good chemistry together and you can feel it before they even get to that point.
I would recommend this book to those that enjoy Slow Burn Romances, Age Gap Romances, or Office/Workplace Romances.
