Kent Kirker I will agree with you on this one. I was disappointed with this latest offering of Kraus', especially after looking forward to it for about 2 years. However, please don't let this set the tone for Mr. Kraus. I would strongly encourage you to read "Rotters"! This is how I was introduced to him, and it was such the right book, at exactly the right moment. I own all of his books(solo and co-authored)/comics/movies (including a signed copy of "Rotters"!) My other favorites of his are "Scowler", and "The Death and Life of Zebulon Finch" Duology! (All of these are narrated by one of my favorite narrators Kirby Heyborne.) Please don't let the shit that was "Bent Heavens" keep you away from his other great work, especially if you like gruesome thrillers!
