Independence High School

Hey, I just noticed you came by to obliterate all that vandalism on the Independence High School (San Jose, California) page -- and as a student of the school, I'm exceedingly grateful for that. Your effort is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot! Ryoji.kun 06:01, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

4Kids Entertainment

No big deal. While I'm no fan of 4Kids, I'm a lesser fan of uncited criticism. --TheFarix (Talk) 01:33, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
ROFLHAO! Thanks, I needed that. Especially with the problems I've had out of an Anime South staffer recently. --TheFarix (Talk) 01:56, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

R. Nelson Snider High School

Hi! I see you dropped by and added the clean up tag. I agree the article needs work (I began it with skeleton information awhile back). I'm puzzled by the NPOV note you left in the edit summary, though. What do you think is unbalanced here? --CTSWyneken(talk) 11:09, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks! I didn't take it as harsh or anything. I was just puzzled. Yes, it does need clean up. I was kind of hoping that some of the school's students or alumni would drop by. I'm just a school parent. --CTSWyneken(talk) 00:18, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Uh oh hide the kids someones gone liberal

Jeeze man come on, go back to reading books, nancy pelosi is an idiot and if your'e as intelligent as you say you are you should know that. No problem, man - I'll keep an eye on it. School are impossible, I know. Sorry about reverting one of your edits. --Haemo 03:23, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
no, no thats fine. I didn't catch everything and didn't revert far enough you caught it good.--Xiahou 03:25, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Gone With The Blastwave

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Gone_with_the_Blastwave Sorry for bringing this up again I'm sure you have had enough of this artical, but I just wanted to know what your reaction to that last argument I put forward, ie the image and translation of the magazine artical. Would you count that as a notable and verifiable source? The closing admin stated "The result was delete. No reliable sources = no verifiable notability, which is the applicable policy here." Yet the newspaper artical seemed fine, and unless you have objections to the magazine stuff I posted, that would be a second source. If you would have had no objections to the magazine evidence, then I would consider taking this to deletion review because the admin did not seem to take that evidence into account. Or maybe he just didn't think it fit the guidlines. Anyway, thanks for staying NPOV throughout the discussion despite our differing viewpoints and my arguing against so much.Darkcraft 00:04, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Ok I wont take it to deletion review, not that we really had consensis it was about 50/50. I believe that this artical should be included in Wikipedia, but I also believe that the chances of it being successful at deletion review are too small for it to be worth the effort of submiting it.Darkcraft 03:15, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Notice Concerning an AfD on 123 Pleasant Street

I am providing this notice because you recently (Closed January 1, 2007) provided an opinion concerning keep/delete or other comments relating to the AfD for the article 123 Pleasant Street. This AfD had an announced result of a consensus to "Keep." A User or Users dissatisfied with this outcome have intitated a process other than the public AfD to overturn this result. The article is presently once again listed on a AfD discussion. To assure that your original comments and opinions are considered you should immediately again expression them in the Current AfD

I am providing this notice after consulting with the Admin closing the AfD. Edivorce 14:54, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

arachnophobia article

I'm pretty new to wikipedia. But there might be something wrong with your vandal software. It keeps reverting the spider picture back on the arachnopbobia article —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.249.32.188 (talkcontribs)

What article did you mean

I wasn't signed in, my username is the snare, what article wasn't I neutral about?

  • I think, if I'm right about which editor you were - I was referring to this edit. Perhaps "POV" was a little bit incorrect - while it's probably not wrong to say that they were inspired by the T-1000, it's definitely speculation - and your personal point of view - on the topic, to claim they were "perhaps inspired". Either they were, or they weren't - however, we don't know, and there isn't any citation or evidence that they were. I wish there were more templates that fit better, but I think you understand my reasoning. Anyways, I didn't mean to bite or anything, and happy editing! --Haemo 02:54, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
What about the thing on in a sonic game someone using a shapeshift ability like the T-1000 wouldn't that be speculuation too? The T-1000 and changelings are almost identical, both liquid that can change thier shape.
  • Yes, I agree about many of these - they are by and large original research. Trivia, and "references" sections on Wikipedia tend to be pretty bad about that. However, as per WP:Pokémon test, the fact that bad articles, or content, exist is not a compelling reason to add more. If you can't find a source that says it was "inspired" by as much, then don't add it. In fact, I'm deleting all of the "trivia" ones which are either not references, or not blatantly obvious. --Haemo 04:30, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Comments

Hello Sir,

I have been informed by you (Haemo) that my IP address has been identified as vandalizing Wikipedia; accusation that I totally reject. Even though, I quoted the information and inserted the correspondent link to the original source, the content of your warnings indicated that you did not even looked at the kind of data I was adding. In other words, even though I made a error for ignoring the rules, it was obvious that what I added was not simply "trash".

I did not know that Wikipedia does not allow users to paste sections taken from blogs; therefore, I cannot accept the charge of vandalism when I simply was trying to add some information that I considered relevant and worthy of including.

I read the policies and now understand better the nature of Wikipedia; I apologize for editing an article before knowing the rules of posting. I just simply want to clarify this issue and the same time suggest a less agressive and more respectful attitude from you as an "editing user". As is evident, in this case, my error of omission is exactly that, an unintentional error, but never a case of "vandalism".

Respecfully,

Julian

PS: I actually have an account in Wikipedia; unfortunately I forgot the password! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.171.248.39 (talkcontribs)

Oh, don't worry about it! It's definitely not a problem. Notice, however, that I did give you several non-threating warnings first of all - I'm just following protocol on how you move up the template sequence. If you have information from stuff like blogs, or what-have-you, then you can put it on the Talk page instead, and ask what people think about including it. --Haemo 03:50, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

Halemo, thanks for your response. Yes, you did send a few warnings; however, I noticed your messages until the last post I added. In fact, I though that something was wrong with the page or that I was doing something wrong, that is why I kept trying to update the page several times. What is a talk page? Can I find a talk page for each article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.171.248.39 (talkcontribs)

Oh, I can understand. If you look at a Wikipedia article, there are some "tabs" at the top, like for folders. The one that is open by default is "article" - this is the article in the Encyclopedia. However, there are a couple others "discussion", "edit this page", "history", etc. Each of these links to "behind the scenes" infomation about the article, and how it was created. The "discussion" tab is commonly called a "Talk" page, because it's a place where editors can talk about the article, without worrying about cluttering it up, or constantly editing it. For instance, this is my talk page - it's a place where people can talk about me, and the things I do on Wikipedia. I've added another set of useful links about editing, and how to use Wikipedia on your talk page. You should definitely make a User account, though - it's very useful. --Haemo 04:08, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

Question

" Regarding edits made during January 27, 2007 (UTC) to Jerusalem Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. If this is an IP address, and it is shared by multiple users, ignore this warning if you did not make any unconstructive edits. Haemo 23:18, 27 January 2007 (UTC) "

I would be happy to know, Mr. Haemo, exactly how my edits are considered "vandalism".—Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.90.167.95 (talkcontribs)
You blanked several thousand characters of the article, including sections which specifically stated they were not to be deleted, expanded or altered, without any comment on the talk page, without providing edit summaries, and which were independently reverted by two different editors. Please read the guidelines which others have placed on your talk page before editing articles in such a manner. --Haemo 07:24, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Style note

Hi. Just a note. Per existing style conventions, one should not put links in section headings. So,

==Density in  metric spaces==

would look better like this:

==Density in  metric spaces==

(the link itself can be in the text below of course). This is a small thing, but I thought it is worth mentioning. Cheers, Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 16:19, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip - it was pretty late last night, when I was editing, and I couldn't remember what the standards were. It's good to know people are looking out for me, though! --Haemo 01:53, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism

Hey Haemo. Yep, sorry about that. I am new to this vandalism reverting thing, and I guess I took longer about it than you, and ended up reverting your correction.--Sheep2000 08:50, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

TW

By the way, how do you use the TW tool?--Sheep2000 08:51, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Your warning tags

I see you using Template:Blatantvandal. The template seems to be not specific enough and I suggest you using the uw-xxxy with warning levels with it. Other vandal hunters can then determine which warning level to give next time. It would make our work easier. Thanks. See: Wikipedia:Template_messages/User_talk_namespace - - Microtony 03:11, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

I noticed that you reverted a change to Outright Libertarians. Can you explain why? You left a vandalism warning, but since what you reverted was a cite for one of the existing points already in the article, I think you're mistaken about the vandalism. Do you have a better way to suggest that the cite be included, without simply reverting to the un-sourced statement that exists now? Robpower 08:08, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Carefull with term HOAX

Why you consider it as hoax? Did you ever search about it ? Most of the articles of wikipedia which even have a strong notes in google are not reliable, but you add the term hoax to this article ? Did you search the persian term of it? when you don't searched the term you must not note it as hoax, Really Sorry for your vote, --Ali 11:17, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

No, I definitely did search for the term. I could find absolutely no mention of it, whatsoever. My impression ran to hoax, since it seemed inconsistent with the uses of Tabarian I could find on Google. --Haemo 23:58, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

'North America (Americas)' ... again

Thank you for weighing in on this prior AfD. Even though an apparent consensus supported the prior AfD in some way, and the article has been deleted, this has reared its head again -- please peruse and weigh in. Thanks! Corticopia 22:33, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Tabarian Calendar

Thank you for your response, But please note that many of content of wikipedia could not be finded in google and such other online pages, Also it is possible to paying for registering many domains to developing nonesense! But one of reasons that i am here is to telling the world about the culture of tabarian people, I recommend you reading this book, ISBN 964-360-455-1 which written in persian and is about iranian chronology, It also uses tabarian calendar to answering some scholars that iran has ancient culture and current persian calendar is not a heritage of arabs, since it's epoch is similar to hijra calendar, Anyway, There is an article in persian wp, i think it would be possible to translating the articles from another language? yeah? So, what is your suggestions about HOAX? --Ali 22:13, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

You've been approved to use VandalSniper. Please let me know if you have any problems getting it working. --Chris (talk) 01:02, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Pejorative "Polygamy"

Hey, I just read (and was impressed by) your comment on the "Christian Right pejorative" and I request that you look at Serial monogamy and how to treat the term "serial polygamy." there has been some discussion on the talk page.—Red Baron 18:10, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Okay dokey, done!

AEI

I complied with COI. Please don't make false accusations. A single uncivil anonymous editor added text that several other editors thought was inappropriate. I suggested removing it. No one opposed my suggestion. I removed it eleven days later. Where's the COI problem? Why revert a legitimate edit that you agree with? -- THF 21:52, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Oh, no problem - I just wasn't sure there was consensus for it; I didn't mean anything by the comment, just that you should watch out - usually, people personally involved in the topic of an article restrict their editing to just the talk page. I didn't mean to suggest, or accuse, you of doing anything untoward. I apologize if it came off that way. --Haemo 21:59, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

You may want to weigh in at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2007 April 15#List of songs containing covert references to real musicians, since you were involved in a previous discussion of this article. - Jmabel | Talk 05:48, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Crab Juice and Khlav Kalash

Hi Jonathan - thanks for your input on these articles. I'm interested in your opinion on the Cultural References section I just added, and the six new citations. I think we have a real article now. Gekritzl 01:26, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Actually, I added six more sources (five under "Cultural References" plus the Wikiquote). I hope I can spare you the chore of heading to the University library, as I have found links for the two sources in print. RfC

Hi Haemo. Could you come over at the RfC on DorisH? Running into the same problems and could use your help. --Mihai cartoaje 07:41, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry - the fellow on your RfC has personally attacked me, and attempted to smear my involvement with the process. I am currently so upset, I cannot, in good faith, comment on any article in which he is involved. I'm sorry, but that's just the way these things sometimes happen. --Haemo 03:34, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately, an article you recently created may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new articles, so it will shortly be removed (if it hasn't been already). Please use the sandbox for any tests you may want to do and please read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you. coelacan00:24, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Hahah, oh no - that was an article I tagged for speedy deletion, but it looks like in the time it took me to add the tag, and process it, it was deleted in the meantime - in which case it ends up that I made an article consisting entirely of a CSD tag. ---Haemo 00:34, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
Are you sure? I'm looking at the deletion log, and the article was only created once, by you, and deleted once, by me. Possibly there was a different article by a slightly different name (or capitalization) that you meant to tag? coelacan00:37, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
Hmmm, that's wierd. I think what happened is that it was a similar article called "Dragon Snakes & ..." (something else). However, I can't find it anywhere in the Newpages log. I think I must be losing my mind. --Haemo 00:40, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
Oh well. It's also possible that something weird happened with the database such that I can't see a previous entry there. Good work on new page patrol, anyway. =) coelacan00:52, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! I feel like a dunce, though, for letting something like that happen. --Haemo 00:53, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Speedy delete?

Why does my category need to be speedy deleted? There are many images here that relate to Crash Bandicoot, and they need to be categorized under that category.
