[edit]

Your recent edit to the page Nepalis in Japan appears to have added incorrect information and has been reverted or removed. All information in this encyclopedia must be verifiable in a reliable, published source. If you believe the information that you added was correct, please cite the references or sources or before making the changes, discuss them on the article's talk page. Please use the sandbox for any tests that you wish to make. Do take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. You make the false claim that there are 100,000 Nepalis in Japan and that they form the country's largest South Asian population. In fact, according to official statistics, there are twice as many Indians, as well as a larger number of Pakistanis. Please insert only verifiable statements into articles. Thank you. cab (call) 05:30, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, please be careful and don't copy things from other parts of Wikipedia unless they are cited to newspapers, government reports, etc. Most of the numbers in the Non Resident Nepali article looked like they were completely invented by someone, so I removed them. cab (call) 11:16, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:VivianBalakrishnan-ST.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Acather96 (talk) 10:01, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Indians in Chile

[edit]

It looks like that website reference.com is a copy of Wikipedia, so it doesn't count as a reliable source (see WP:CIRCULAR). There's some better sources listed at the last AfD which should be more helpful: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Indian Chilean. Happy editing, cab (call) 08:48, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Indians in Brazil, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.indiaconsulate.org.br/html/english/Indian_community.php.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) Diaspora articles

[edit]

Hello DaTraveller! Looking at your recent contributions, I can tell you are busy making Indian diaspora articles. I was wondering if you could find some of your time to create more articles especially on the Indian diaspora in the Middle East (Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman etc.) Some of these countries have very huge Indian communities yet I find it ironic there are no articles about them; Indians in the United Arab Emirates is about the only one we have till now. If you are interested, do let me know - maybe we could work together :) Mar4d (talk) 09:38, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cyprus

[edit]

Hello again! Regarding the article Indians in Cyprus, I think more information from Hinduism in Cyprus should be merged into it and the Hinduism article should exclusively only talk about the religion in the country rather than the Indian community. Any mentions in the article about Indians would be better off in the new article that you have just created. If you would require any assistance, do let me know. Mar4d (talk) 11:43, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Indians in Korea

[edit]

Google Translate is generally a disaster on Korean. You shouldn't rely on it to produce translations. "한국에서 인디언" (Hanguk-eseo Indieon) is using the wrong word for "Indian" (the word for American Indians like Navajos and Apaches), and it reads like a sentence fragment rather than a noun phrase. It's like saying "In Korea, Indians are ..." in English.

The phrase I added ("Juhan Indo-in") is literally "Indians (Indo-in) stationed-in (Ju) Korea (Han)". The meaning is accurate; maybe "Jaehan Indo-in" is better, I'm not too sure ("Jae" is just like "Zai" in the Japanese term "Zainichi").

The first four syllables are the same as the phrase "Indian embassy in Korea" (Juhan Indo Daesagwan) which is probably why Google Translate mistranslated it that way. cab (call) 12:10, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Nepalis in Belgium is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

Indians in the Pacific and American diaspora

[edit]

Hi, sorry not to respond to your earlier message as I was away for a while. For American diaspora and Emigration from the United States, yeah it makes sense to me too to merge them. I guess it should be merged to Emigration from the United States since that's the older article. Put a {{mergeto}}/{{mergefrom}} tag on it and see what the original authors have to say. Personally I don't like either title that much though. "Americans abroad" seems to be the most common way of calling it. But that's a separate issue, I'll put it up at WP:RM sometime later after the merge is done. For Indians in the Pacific, I guess you're referring to this book? It's fine to use any book as a source as long as you write about it in your own words instead of copying from the book. Cheers, cab (call) 05:04, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

nepal russians

[edit]

the article comes from a national site who promotes national nepalese views, why should russian women go to nepal to live there , its a poor country even more poor than russia was in the 90s (russias gdp per capita 13000, nepal 600 dollar), they sure are just lying around or are overestimating it, there are many russian tourists. Like i said nepal is a very poor country like india so they feel better if they write such stories since russians are white europeans, it gives them self esteem to hear such things since their daily life is in a poor third world country. I only trust pictures on the internet if i hear such stories. Its annoying and gives bad light to russian womens generalizing that all russian women are easy women thats how its written. For me thats simple racist.--Shokioto22 (talk) 03:58, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

TemplateData is here

[edit]

Hey DaTraveller

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.
