I don't really understand how this series is so popular. There is really poor world building like at this point of the series I should know a lot of this world, I barely know nothing. It has been first romance, then fantasy and then dystopian, which confuses me...because this is market as a dystopian novel not a romance novel.
The best thing about this series is Kenji and Aaron Warner. I think they are the best characters and you can see the author loves them. Juliette has some amazing growth on this book but this could've been a growth that can occur in three books not all in one book.
I honestly can't imagine how the author taught this is the best ending to this series... baffles me. So many plot holes...
I think I would have loved this at 15-17 but right know I just wish they were a bit mature and expect more on the plot. Probably going to read the next three books but going to take a break cause for now it's been a lot. ...more

This book is better than the first one. I still don't love this series but I like it enough to continue. I'm not having a bad time but it's nothing world shattering to me either. This feeling comes from not liking the main character aka Juliette. There’s still 0 character development for her and I REALLY hope this ending can make her wake up and start making better choices. In that sense, it is a bit slow cause you got some amazing character development for Aaron Warner and then Juliette is still not growing up, what's up with that? Anyways, Kenji SUPREMACY!!! The only character who would not take bullsh*t from anyone and put them in their place, I stan.
The plot is better here. It's the main focus of the book which the first one heavily focused on the romance and barely did world building. In this one you understand more of the government and how is the world but I'm still left with so many questions of this world and their powers. I hope they get addressed in the next book. It would be a shame if they only focus on the action and left the world building to shreds.

The main characters, for now and me, are very tough to love. I don't know if I'm too old for this but didn't connect with them at all. Just find their choices rushed, dumb and completely unwarranted. Aaron Warner this and that... I guess he's getting the Rhysand treatment because he is completely unlikeable on this book.
Also, this is kinda spicy isn't this young adult? Confused...
I'm going to continue but only because of the ending, it seemed to get very cool!...more

I’m blown away with this world, symbolism and social and political criticism. As an adult and studying poly sci I have a whole new perspective on how to view things that 11 year old me wouldn’t have understood. Suzanne Collins did that!!!
As a romance girlie, I have to talk about the romance. Peeta and Katniss serve better in the books than the movies!! I SAID IT! Katniss is such a complex character and although Jennifer Lawrence is amazing, I found myself debating if she portrayed Katniss emotion well. Anyways, THE ROMANCE SERVE AND THAT ENDING…

America can be very annoying and I know it’s a YA but I don’t have to agree with her decisions. Aspen is misogynistic, I hope she realizes that. Maxon was a bit awkward hopefully we get to know him better.
The plot is weird. I just don’t know how it all blends but will see. The ending was also weird, anti-climatic.
