I absolutely LOVE the cover!! It really makes you want to discover the story. Doesn't it? [image]
I enjoyed this book way more than I expected. It has a lot of action and so much suspense. I expected something very different, an easy read, maybe a little suspense, BUT this story gave me so much more: demons, vampires, ghosts, dark forces and those who fought against them!
I was hooked from the first pages, even if I had to read twice the first sentence: "Sara's mother called him again ...", because I "tripped" at Sara and him.
I love the writing style of these authors. They didn't gave us too much from the start and I always appreciate this. I could complain the story was a little slow paced at the beginning, but I will not, because everything was revealed at the perfect time. I enjoyed discovering the story while Sara discovered Mr. Dupont's secrets.
Mr. Thaddeus Dupont - was such a complex character. I was so curious about his past! I couldn't wait for him to give us another piece of him, and for Sara to begin to understand him a little more. If he ever actually smile, Mr. Intense would be devastating.
Sarasija made me picture a very young, hansom but ingenuous man. He took his first job without even taking in consideration any danger that may come. To say his job as Dupont's assistant was very different from what he expected, is an understatement!
About Thaddeus and Sara, well despite their differences: age and experience, they feel very attracted to each other even if they are both afraid to give in to temptation. Their reasons are so different too, Dupont doesn't want to break his contract and Sara doesn't want to have an affair with his boss. But everything gets so complicated, their lives are in danger and they had to fight the evil every moment. So when they couldn't fight and gave into each other, everything felt right. All their hot moments together seem right and made me realize they mean a lot to each other and words were not necessary.
I really liked the choice of words of these 2 authors. I think it gives authenticity to Mr. Dupont having such an old soul, and I also loved all his French words he used sometimes. He really felt like an old soul trapped in such a young and beautiful body.

I would resign myself to an eternity in hell, if it meant a single lifetime with him.

Her writing is exquisite, as always! From the first page you get transported into this fantastic world with humans, elves, soldiers, courtesans.
We get Ōkkanȏ Kyatto - a male courtesan with an Incubus lust demon, and Sergeant Jhagán Lázhien - a human soldier.
They couldn't be more different, but they share a very special and rare bond: Sergeant Jhagán is Ōkkanȏ/Tii-Matâshi's fated soulmate.
This story starts with intense lust, even if Ōkkanȏ can't stand soldiers. But Lázhien is determined to have him anyway.
There's a lot of inner struggles, especially in Ōkkanȏ, who has to fight his demon a lot. He's insecure and afraid to be rejected. So even if he gives into temptation, he was not ready to give their bond a try.
Lázhien was a great surprise. He was tough on the outside, but an attentive lover. He was also kind, and protective. I would have wanted him to fight more for Ōkkanȏ, to speak his mind and not to just accept the situation. Even if I liked Madame Ranelle, I would have wanted Lázhien to pursue Ōkkanȏ on his own.
Overall I enjoyed the story and especially the epilogue!

It might be the lockdown and my lack of concentration, but it took me longer to read this one. Longer than the first book and longer than usual. I still loved the banter between the main characters. And I have to admit I didn't guess the evil character's identity. It took me by surprise, but I felt like this one was unnecessarily long.

As much as I enjoyed the writing, I kind of expected more. I liked the story, don't get me wrong. I just didn't get to love it. It worked better for me than the first book, but I wanted more suspense and angst. Maybe it is wrong to expect too much. Maybe it's just me not feeling it.
This was Rafe's story, one of the 4 brothers and vampires in the Varik clan. He falls in love with another vampire. They were pretty hot together, but for some reason I needed much more. More angst, more action!! We get a fight, but it came a little too late for my taste. This story dragged. It felt unnecessary long.
I am curious about Bel and Winter, so I think I will read the next books at one point. ...more

It's SO hard to put into words what I felt while reading this one. It's another freebie I got from Amazon and again I auto-clicked because I thought we're going to get a HOT FATED MATES story.
"HEAT" it actually an M/M Gay Shifter Mpreg Romance... My bad, I didn't check the blurb. So it's only my fault. I had no idea while diving in about the Mpreg thing. I'm not a fan, actually I can't remember if I've read about this before, but I knew, I just knew it's not my thing. I can't for the love of God, wrap my head around it and be OK with it. Not even in a fantasy or fated mates or shape shifter story.
Dane is a shape shifter dragon and he finds his mate in a human. They share this strong bond and have wild sex. Dane is afraid his mate will die while being pregnant. He leaves him. Then he returns and takes his responsibility. They love each other. They have A LOT of sex. They deliver the baby dragon and the Epilogue shows us a happy family with friends. The end.
Unfortunately this was not my cup of tea. But it's a novella and I was able to finish it pretty quickly. Now I can honestly say Mpreg is NOT for me, I tried it and it didn't do anything for me....more

I'll start by admitting that I really enjoy Barbara Elsborg's writing. Each and every book written by her was special and different than I expected. This one makes no exception. It was a great surprise. I am not a big fan of paranormal stories, shapeshifters and all, but here it worked for me.
This story was surprising. It was very funny, and it was really hot!
Ryder is not happy to say the least about his team building trip, cycling and talking to himself most of the time. Then he gets to an auction house, meets Callan, and many supernatural creatures: werewolves, witches, faeries. This story gets exciting!
I really want to keep my review spoiler free, so you'll have to find out on your own what brought the main characters together. I'll admit I enjoyed the book, but I would have wanted a little more angst and my only complaint would be that everything fell into place too easily.
If you're a fan of paranormal stories, don't miss this one. It's actually extremely sweet and don't forget: HOT ...more

There was A LOT of drama, many painful scenes, but many times I felt the need to take a break from it all.
This book felt too long, the action dragged many times and I got tired of the repetitions and all their memories...
Overall I enjoyed it, there were a lot of wonderful scenes, but I kind of wanted more and the action to speed up. There was a time when I didn't really know if I wanted Robbie to remember all about his past. But the ending was great for the couple and sad for Carter.
The only thing that I really LOVED would be the timber wolf, Gavin. I am looking forward to reading the next book. Carter and Gavin ❤
I really hope Robert Livingstone will DIE a horrible death, like he deserves, and the Bennetts to be finaly free!...more

Marcus Varik was the oldest of four brothers, and now he's a vampire. I am pretty curious about his brothers and their own stories, especially about Rafe. There was something about his attitude and cheekiness that made me like him the most.
Ethan was determined to gather intel on Marcus and his brothers, because his own family was killed years ago by vampires. The only thing he wanted was revenge.
When Ethan meets Marcus, everything he believed about vampires is changed slowly. A little too slow for my taste. Marcus might be the older brother, protective and serious, but he was a real gentleman, well gentlevampire actually. His shyness was endearing and even if he wanted at first to keep his distance, he couldn't. So Ethan and Marcus begin a friendship at first and slowly, very slowly, they admit they are attracted to each other. I can't say I enjoyed the slow burning here. I couldn't wait for the action to speed a bit and this happens closer to the middle of the story. We get some unexpected deaths and the author reveals to us the depths of their world, with all the backstabbing and avid for power vampires.
There are some hot scenes, but again I somehow felt like Marcus took it too slow and then out of the blue he wasn't shy anymore, he even transforms into a very confident lover. And I mean it, it happened too fast.
Overall this was a nice and interesting story, with vampires, fights, blood and romance too. If you're a fan of all these, then this will be a fantastic read for you and you should give it a try. I've read it pretty quickly and it kept my interest. Enjoy!

Even if I'm not a fan of fantasy, the wold building here was head spinning and well a little over the top. But I liked it! I enjoyed the writing, the story, NoX and Luca. BUT I can't rate it with 5 stars. It was a page turner and even if I didn't really care for all the lab details, I kind of wanted to know what happened to Koda and I was curious about NoX! There are A LOT of flashbacks from the past - experienced not only by NoX but also by Dr. Dante. Well I can't say I was really interested in Dr. Dante's POV, but at least we get NoX's and Luca's POV too, so this is always a plus for me. I'm happy with how things settled in the end, after a lot of suspense and tension between the main characters. So 4 solid stars from me!...more

This is the second book in the Wild Magics series, but it can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed it more than the first book, maybe because it was longer, but it had an emotional impact. This story touches the reader. It deals with injustice and not fitting in the world.
Kaidyn is the son of the queen of Sareen but he's also an officer. He meets Sorin and their lives change forever. Sorin hides many secrets. The main characters are really different but they complete each other so well. Kai changes so much. This story has many unexpected turns and is pretty sweet at times.

The writing is extraordinary, as always! I enjoyed the dynamics better the main characters. As we are already used by now, Kasia Bacon has some of the most unique names for her characters.
This novella has something magical. Both main characters have amazing abilities, one can heal through magic and one could fight like no other. Their love story was endearing. Both were afraid to fight but they were more afraid to be without the other. I really love this book's title! It has such a sweet meaning. Loved the beautiful ending and I am looking forward to reading more from this author!!!

This is the third book in the Kai Gracen series by Rhys Ford and my favorite so far. The books should be read in order for a better understanding of the story and the character's development.
If you're a fan of urban fantasies then this series is definitely for you. But you must know from the start that here it's all about action - a lot of it actually, and not so much about romance. Until now, and it's already the third book, we don't get much romance between the main characters: Stalker Kai Gracen and the Sidhe Lord Ryder. For me, romance is definitely a plus in a book and here I just needed more. Some intimacy between Kai and Ryder would have made this more enjoyable. But I kept expecting something to happen between them. Anything. Yes, Ryder made clear from the first book that he wants Kai, but Kai kept pushing him away, pretending he wasn't attracted to him. With each book I expected Kai to give into temptation, especially because Ryder was always insisting in joining him in all the missions. So there were plenty of opportunities for them to connect.
The beginning of this book is focused more on Kai. We also get a lot of details about the characters' backgrounds. I have read the first two books recently and didn't really need all the reminders, but I get it that it might help other readers who don't remember much from the previous books. I admit I didn't think I'll stick to this series, but the curiosity won.
A new character falls out of the blue, Kerrick, Ryder’s cousin. He wants to take Ryder's San Diego Southern Rise Court but also Kai.
This book is full of action, just like the other books in the series. Seems like Kai is always fighting a lot of monsters and has so little time for recovery and peace. Thank God he heals faster than a human. He's always so close of dying.
What I loved here the most would be all the emotional scenes with Dempsey - the Stalker human who raised Kai - and also the sweetest ending, even if that felt a little bit like a cliffhanger. I almost screamed AT LAST!!! Kai and Ryder share an earthshaking kiss and it left me wanting MORE!
I have no idea how many books the author planned for this series. But I really hope we're going to get some hot scenes. And soon.
