TRIGGER WARNING
Acceptance of the Egoist contains explicit sexual scenes between men, strong language, dubious permission, scenes of violence, and is intended for adult readers only. Acceptance of the Egoist touches on the hard topic of Stockholm syndrome with all the pain and cruelty that comes along. This book isn’t meant for people with weak hearts or people who get easily offended or shocked."
This being said, I must admit I loved it! It showed us how Kuon started to give in and we also get another side of Yugo.
I'm diving right now into book #2 because I am dying to get more!!! This is a great dark series, with a lot of violence and cruelty, but what I enjoy here the most is the connection between the MCs. Am I twisted? Definitely. Do I care? Nope!...more

This was free on Amazon when I grabbed it and as I love Annabeth Albert's writing style I thought it was going to be a winner. Unfortunately it took me ages to get invested into the story, even if it's pretty short, and it was too sugary sweet for my taste. It ended being just an OK read. I enjoyed some parts, but it was not what I expected. Low on angst and pretty light....more

This is book #2,5 in the series Those Other Books. It can be read as a standalone, and it's actually before the first book and after the second one. If that makes sense.
If you haven't read the other two books, you can definitely start with this one as it's about Adam and Christoffer (who met in Adam Only). You should jump right into this one and then read the other books too, because these are extremely HOT, and intense, and the writing is SO good!!!

I can't believe I cried while reading this...
This last shortie was extremely emotional and it punched me hard. It was extremely well written!!! Never a dull moment. I savoured every chapter, every scene. I highlighted a lot, but unfortunately I can't share much because of spoilers. You should definitely experience it on your own, without any idea of what happens next. I'm super glad I haven't stumbled on any spoilers and enjoyed it despite the super sad scenes.
This last book was everything I expected and then some. I wouldn't change a thing. Not even the scene in the barn. I am glad Trav was strong enough for both of them!
"Wish you were here" by Pink Floyd is one of my favorite songs of all times. I started to sing it along with the boys, with tears in my eyes. When I finished this book I listened it again and cried my eyes out for the boy who has given up his dreams, the boy who was rarely hugged, the boy who wasted his youth because he hid who he was. And all because of a horrieble lie and his homophobic parents.
This story will last in my mind. I loved everything about it! Trav's strength, Mackey's transformation, Kell's maturity. So many things changed with Trav's help.
I love that despite the angst and heartbreaking scenes, there is HOPE. This ending left me hoping things will continue to get better and better for these boys.
“Every time he sings it, he looks at me like he can’t sing another note if I’m not in the audience, waiting for it to come out. That’s how I want him to need me.”
"Can you even breathe?” Trav asked over his head. “It’s not air if it doesn’t smell like you.”
"But it was worth everything—rehab and crying for months and all that bullshit—if you and me can walk away from this together."
"So. So you think you can tell, Heaven from hell…. Trav knew the words to this one too. Mackey picked up the guitar, and the clean chords surged in melancholy waves under their quiet voices. When they got to the part about the two lost souls, Mackey’s voice cracked, but his brothers kept up the melody, and Mackey did what he’d done the first time Grant left. He just kept playing, because it was all he had."
The only reason I'm not rating it with 5 stars is because I had too high hopes about this one. After 2 absolutely amazing shorties, this one 4,5 stars
The only reason I'm not rating it with 5 stars is because I had too high hopes about this one. After 2 absolutely amazing shorties, this one wasn't as heartbreaking as I expected. Maybe the author's intention was to leave all the heartbreak for the last book. It's understandable. Still, this one left me wanting more.
We get some surprises, some good - with Briony, some bad - with Cheever. Ugh!!! But the bonus scenes were so sweet!!! I feel like I understand Kell better.
All in all I think it was a nice continuation of the story, but it kind of made me want to get it done fast and start the last one. I know it's going to be tough. I can't wait to get the promised angst! Looking forward to reading the next and last shortie. I'm sure I will re-read this series and I'll probably want to read the long length book....more

It was sweet. It was HOT. And it also surprised me big time!!
Mackey and Trav are perfect together. Loved Mackey's strength and Trav's sincerity. I was glad Blake is finally a part of their family. I hated Cheever and would have done more than shaking him for his awful language!!! And we got Briony!!! I absolutely loved her interactions with Mackey and the band!
And finaly the news that shake their world. I must admit I agree with Trav.
“The point is this guy meant something to you—and not just something, he was your fucking everything. I know it was a thousand years ago, but even I remember my first crush, and it broke my fucking heart. You only get that kind of pain once, and you… it was your whole world."
"I don’t want to hurt you,” Mackey whispered. “I don’t want to hurt him, but I really don’t want to hurt you.” “You will,” Trav said, knowing in his gut that it would happen. Yeah, it was one thing to tell Mackey to go open up a vein, but Trav was pretty sure there’d be plenty of blood on the ground to spare. “You’ll hurt us both, but, well, backatcha.”...more

Machey and Trav finally had their first date. It was so sweet and romantic. And even if the sad news about Tony ruined Machey's new found balance, what followed really moved things forward for the new couple.
With each book this series gets better and better. This third book broke my heart! So many emotions!!! All over the place! And I loved it!

"God. This kid. This man. Trav could hardly speak. “The things in your heart, Mackey. They’re beautiful.” He was undone. All Mackey’s words about being friends, and this was about the most poetic thing Trav had ever seen. It wasn’t platonic. It was the song of lovers who hadn’t touched."
I love Trav more and more. But Mackey is so broken! And I'm so sorry about Blake...
“The name meant nothing to him. Nothing. There would be a day when Trav would yearn for Grant Adams not to mean a goddamned thing."
I really wish there was no Grant anymore. Even his ghost is pissing me off!...more

I enjoyed this one more than the first book. I still resent Grant for his choices, but he's out of the picture. Finally!
I like Trav Ford. It seems like he can handle these boys. They became famous too fast and Machey lost himself in drugs. I hated Gerry with a passion. He just pumped Xanax into Machey... And Machey was so lost and alone. It broke my heart!
"You don’t know fuckin’ nothing, Mr. Ford. I hate that you even think you know as much as you do. I hate that you saw me naked and sweating and helpless. So you don’t make no fucking assumptions about what you think you know about me and mine, you hear?”
"I’ll just keep that bus to rehab all warmed up for you, okay, Mackey? That’ll be my job. I’ll get paid a fucking fortune to carry you down to the fucking ambulance because you can’t tell the fucking truth, even to yourself.”
Now I'm hooked. The ending of this one made my heart ache. I think I know what comes next and it's going to break my heart. Diving right into the third book....more

This is the first book in the Beneath the Stain series by Amy Lane.
I can't say that I loved it, it was just OK for now. Maybe it was only the introduction to the series, but for some reason I can't say I enjoyed either of the main characters. Nothing spectacular happens here. The few hot scenes weren't extraordinary and I resented Grant for being afraid to admit he wants Mackey. And for what?! He was afraid of his parents and kept seeing his girlfriend?! Nope. I didn't like him at all!!!
I'll give the next book a try, hoping something big will happen and soon....more

I enjoyed the writing and the mysterious Mr. X. This was a nice surprise, the whole time wondering who Mr. X was. I really enjoyed their banter through pinned messages on the campus board. I think this was unique and it really made me love this story.
Jacob wants to find a new flatmate and has to choose between 3 very different men . Mr. Shy Guy, Mr. Philosophy and Mr. Hunk.
I can't say I am a fan of Scott, Jacob's ex and I didn't really want him in this story.
All I can say is that Mr. X ended being the one I loved the most and the ending was suuuper sweet....more

Even if I am not a big fan of short stories, I enjoyed this one. The writing was engaging, and I got pretty curious about the outcome.
This is a fantasy story, Daymon is a prince with magical abilities, an Evoker. Unfortunately his magical powers got him captured.
Rhyder is the captain of his guards, his lover and Daymon's only hope.
This short story can be read as a standalone and it's about friendship, hope and wanting to make a change in the people's opinions about those who are different.

I loved all the books I've read by Roe Horvat and this book is no exception. When I start a book by this author I just know it's going to be amazingly written. And this one was HOT. Super HOT!
This is the second book in the series Those Other Books. It can be read as a standalone, even if it's actually about a couple we met in The Other Book. If you haven't read the first book, then you can definitely start with this one as it's about how Adam and Christoffer met and fell in love. Then you should jump right into The Other Book because it's not only extremely HOT, but it takes us to revisit Adam and Christoffer as a solid couple who know what they want and aren't afraid to ask for it. The steam level is just super high!!
Adam is a beautiful dancer. Christoffer is a successful businessman. This book has one of my favorites tropes: AGE GAP and what I really, really loved about it would be how different the main characters were. Adam is 21 years old and lean, Christoffer is 37 years old and a bear. But somehow they connected and were perfect for each other. The way they fit into place warmed my heart.
This story was well written, sweet at times, and if you're searching for a very HOT couple, and extremely HOT scenes, than this one is for you. Don't miss it!

This is an Hours of the night short story. I've read the previous books in this series and loved them. The writing is amazing! This novella featured new characters, Adam and Noel. They were so different, but somehow they fit. I am only sorry we didn't get more. We get action and a few hot scenes, but I would definitely read a full length book with these main characters.
Looking forward to reading more from these authors!...more

The writing is extraordinary, as always! I enjoyed the dynamics better the main characters. As we are already used by now, Kasia Bacon has some of the most unique names for her characters.
This novella has something magical. Both main characters have amazing abilities, one can heal through magic and one could fight like no other. Their love story was endearing. Both were afraid to fight but they were more afraid to be without the other. I really love this book's title! It has such a sweet meaning. Loved the beautiful ending and I am looking forward to reading more from this author!!!
