My favour**spoiler alert** 2.5 This book felt like a filler between the two books, the story could have been easily included in either of the two books. My favourite character up to 70pcent of this book was the Naga aka Ganesh, but by the end of this book he was also made a bland, good character and the complexity was gone. Literally all of the side characters are more interesting than Shiva. The relationship of Parvateshwar with Anandyami felt very meh. I couldn't feel much about the characters because there is no danger?? My point from the first book still stands that the writing is just awful. This book seriously reads like a Bollywood movie, which in itself is not wrong but I was expecting more from this trilogy....more

This is my least favourite book of the series. The problems that I have with this book are: 1-It was short, painfully short. Imo this book should have been way longer than it already is. 2-We didn't get to see the battle. The battle of Helms Deep was so intense becuase we was in the midst of it, we didn't even get to see the Oliphaunt slaughtered. 3-Sauron! Sauron? There was no confrontation between him and any of the characters??????
But did I love this book? Yes! Would I give everything away for reading this book all over again? Hell Yes!...more

For starters, this book take such a long time to actually reach to the interesting part, that I had to push myself to finish this one. Secondly, the writing. The words used in this book doesn't feel like they're from 1000 BC and that takes a lot away from the book. Also, the dialogues were weak. I had guessed the plot very early into the book and was not surprised. I am hyped for the sequel though....more

You have barely survived Mr. Tommy Lord Voldthing last year, and now you are being attacked by dementors, to make matters worse you are almost expelled from school and now are a criminal. Somehow you were saved by DumbleBoy. But then misfortunes follows you in a pink dress and a black bow to school. To make matters worse, it is also your OWL year, you also are having creepy visions, and if that wasn't enough, you have Occlumecy with Severus I-willl-hold-a-high-school-grudge-over-a-broken-boy Snape. I would have bolted, would have packed my things and got off the face of the Wizarding world.
ANYWHO, can you really blame Harry being angry throughout this book? The ending scene in D's office was SO satisfying, (although sad) when he wreaked havoc.
Minerva McG Minny was THE best part from this book. I mean-
1- "Have a biscuit Potter." 2- "Do you want a cough drop Dolores?" 3- "It unscrews the other way."
As a side note, Sirius (although he is one my FAVS) really irritated me in this book. Remus was a way more reliable figure in Harry's life....more

"Wow...look at that...he's not here now! So why no have a go? They might be able to find you a double cell in Azkaban with your loser of a husband."
"There's no need to call me sir, Professor."
"That's my nickname" he said
I will never not be devastated by the ending of this book....more
I am all for saying that Snape is a layered and interesting character but in this book I just wanted to smash his face into a cauldron repeatedly.

This book was also SO sad. Sirius' story but also Remus and him being the most perfect DADA teacher, just being super adorable and distributing chocolate all round. Say what you say about Dumbleboy but at least he gave Remus a fair chance.

This book was so chaotic. I loved it. I think that the chaotic nature balances the darkness of this book. Students are getting petrified? Yes! But you know what else is happening? Lockhart is giving lessons on fame to Harry; Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley are flying a car to Hogwarts; and Quidditch is being cancelled.
I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would.
Update-
(Hogwarts staff room, circa 1992)
Dumbledore: I have called this meeting to discuss the measures we should be taking to tackle this petrification problem. Does any one have any ideas?
Mcgonagall: Well, we should set up a patrol at evey hour and also warn the students to not wander the castle alone.
Dumbledore: Mmhmm, yes very good.
Flitwick: We can escort the students to every class.
Dumbledore: Nice thought!
Lockhart: I may have an idea, some will say a brilliant idea (not me, I am too humble.)
Snape:...yes?
Lockhart: Valentine's at Hogwarts. Can you imagine, red hearts and pink confetti....
Dumbledore: Hmm..
Mcgonagall: Albus, you can't be seriously considering this-
Lockhart- Pink draperies around the great hall. Oh! I can also call some dwarfs.
Mcgonagall: Albus!
Dumbledore: *giggling in his cup* well, what an EXCELLENT idea. ...more

I read Harry Potter for the first time in the March of 2017, right before my Chemistry boards exam. Ever since then, I have been chasing the high of absolutely ravishing a 7 part book series. Flying through the tasks in GOF, visiting Hogwarts for the first (and last) time, looking for horcruxes in TDH, and frantically reading to find out who was the Half Blood Prince. I have come to realize that I will never be 17 reading Harry Potter for the first time again and that's okay (although EXTREMELY sad)
This series brings me so much comfort. Hogwarts will always be my home....more
