This one ended being my favorite book in the series. I truly fell in love with these characters. This story felt SO real!
I'll admit the slow burn was hard to handle. But we get many details before deployments and during some missions. This author focuses not only on the romance but gives us a lot of action too.
We got here some pretty complex characters. Their back stories are great. The MCs are very good at their jobs. Bacon is a sexy and confident SEAL. He loves his team and he dreams about becoming a chief. When Spencer Bryant comes along, a reporter who won himself an opportunity to write a military story, he's conflicted.
I loved their conversations and their banter. And once they gave into temptation, this story got better and better. They fit so well and it surprised me so much to discover they were exactly what the other needed. There are many extremely hot scenes but also tender and sweet ones.
The angst is bearable and what I absolutely loved here would be the uniqueness of the characters. They felt so real. Bacon's full name made me smile, but I loved the nickname Spence picked for him. It suited him!
I loved the last chapters. Such sweet and also funny scenes. Just like the characters.
I was glad to revisit some of the other couples from the previous books, but this book can be read as a stand alone. You just have to stick to the story because the slow burn might be too much at times.

After the previous book, Guns n' Boys: Gilded Agony, which I absolutely adored, I think I had too high expectations for this one. If you usually enjoy super sweet and pretty angst-free books, then you'll love it. I did too, but not as much as the other books in this series.
Here we got Mark's story. We get only a few glimpses of Dom and Seth, but those short scenes made my heart ache. I miss them so much!!! Well they're my favorite couple of all times!!!
This story was really sweet and so different from what I'm used to get from this series. It moved a little slow at first and angst was at minimum. Griff was so pure and trusting, naive even. It took me a while to warm up on him. And they were hot together, but I will have to admit I still can't say they blew my mind.
We get some unexpected news. And one was really unbelievable. Trust these awesome authors to surprise you!
It's actually a slow-burn romance, out-for-you and losing V-card. It has all the ingredients for a great story, good chemistry and smoking hot scenes. It was a little too sweet for my taste though. I missed the suspense and the action these authors provided in the previous books, so this is the reason I'm not rating it with 5 stars.
I loved the writing and I can't wait to read more! After reading the post-credits scenes I am super excited!! And afraid for Mark and Griff. I will probably reread the previous books until book #9 is out.
I loved this one so much! Brilliant writing!!! So much emotion and sadness, but just my cup of tea!

It was exactly what I want in a book: broken characters and angst. I can't seem to find good enough words to describe Simon. He was SO broken. It was painful to witness his struggles. This author surely knows how to evoke emotions. I was a mess while reading, but it just blew my mind. This story felt so real!
I don't want to give too much away, readers should experience it on their own.
I adored this book! And I can't wait to read more from Roe Horvat!!!...more

I'm in love with these characters. I know many of my friends already read this series and mentioned Ty and Zane are one of the most lovable characters. I now know why.
This was different than the previous books. I am glad we get so many unexpected scenes here! Ty was so caring and sweet. Zane had to fight the darkness. Literally. It was a great change. We get another side of them. They are so complex and we discover many different edges of their personalities.
At last Zane opens up. It was SO needed!
Loved this one even if the ending made me want to scream. But I have high hopes Ty isn't leaving Zane behind. No matter how scared he might be. Their love story is painfully slow. But I love it!!!...more

It pains me to admit this was my least favorite in the series. I had such high hopes for this one. I've been dying to get to Cael and Ash's story. I absolutely loved them in all the other books, but here I didn't get what I expected. I wanted to smack Ash so many times! I felt like this dragged too much. There were SO many unnecessary scenes and Cael was super patient! I know I couldn't be this patient.
We already know about Ash's sad past from the previous books. So here we don't get much more. I didn't like his POV. He just didn't let Cael in.
Thank God Dex comes along and makes me laugh so much, again! Actually he and Sloane were present most of the book so I think I got to enjoy it because of them.
We get a lot of drama, from Cael's past and also from Ash's. They are hot together but there wasn't much tension and I have to admit some scenes were too sugary sweet for my taste. I just wanted a little more. A little more tension, more surprises on the way. They kind of fell into place too easily.
I'm rounding up because the last chapters kept me glued to the pages. We get again suspense and many unexpected turns. I loved how Sloane kept his ground and defended their team in front of a very scary Sparks.
I love this series and I adore how it still surprises me....more

What I really LOVED here would be that DEX and Sloane's relationship became stronger! *sigh* And things are starting to move between Cael and Ash and Calvin and Hobbs. Finally!!!
Some scenes are hard to believe and over the top, but overall I absolutely adore these characters and Dex still makes me laugh SO hard!!!

The blurb gave me enough info to make me curious and I've seen enough movies using similar ideas. Man gets himself an android. He has the money so he gets his dream man, as an android. The eyes, the haid, the built, the bulge. But he actually gets more than he ever dreamed of.
The first half of the book was hard to digest. I just couldn't get to love the story. I got invested but not 100%. And the sex between the main characters, well I can't say it was spectacular. It really didn't seem hot enough. So why 4 stars? Well the super sweet love story became super interesting. Something along the way changed and it rose my curiosity. I kept reading with more interest and why not, I was even afraid for the MCs. Huh, I didn't even realize I've got to like them enough to fear for their lives.

To be honest I wasn't sure I will read it until the end because I wanted to abandon many times. It just didn't work for me. This story is my least favorite from this author and definitely the most boring I have read this year. It was a real struggle to pick it up each time.
Nothing happens in this book. Not really. I didn't like the lack of action in the first half. The main characters barely spoke even if they lived and worked together. There are only a few interactions on page. And then BOOM they are in love. I was like "what?!" We don't even get the fighting scene with the stalker. I was really disappointed.
I wanted so much more. Maybe that's why I am so disappointed. I expected good banter and at least some action, but nope. Nada!
There were only a couple of surprises, and very few hot scenes, but for me this whole story fell flat. Maybe it's me here again, since everybody loved it. I just couldn't connect to the characters....more

This one was so good! I fell hard for the writing and I highlighted a lot. So poetic and full of emotions. I loved it!
I've also read the Middle of Somewhere series by this author and enjoyed all the books. But Invitation to the Blues was pretty different, as one of the main characters suffers from depression and anxiety.
It's the second book in the series Small Change but can be read as a stand-alone. The beginning was super slow paced and I'm not really a fan of slow burn romance, BUT when Jude and Faron got together, sparks started to fly. My iPad was on fire and I really, really love the attraction between the characters here, mostly because Jude feels worthless, anxious and guilty. So much guilt for disappointing his family and pretty much everyone.
It broke my heart to witness his struggles and his pain, but Faron, oh Faron *sigh*, he was like a balm in Jude's life.
Jude was a pianist who left his boyfriend (for 5 years), his career, friends and life in Boston and moved to Philadelphia, after a suicide attempt.
I loved the connection between them. There are also some extremely hot scenes. For reasons I thought they won't be such a great match in bed, but this author writes some explosive scenes.
We get only a little relationship angst, and to be honest I would have wanted to get Faron's POV too, but overall it was a great story. I love books that I keep thinking about long after finishing them, and I have a feeling I will be thinking about Jude and Faron for a while. They were so in sync even if they were different. So 4,5 stars from me....more

I really loved this one! It has my favorite tropes: friends-to-lovers AND second chance romance.
I loved the dual POV, the super hot scenes and it has just a little bit of angst, but it worked pretty well here. What got to me would be the horrific experience Ben had, going to a conversion camp. He was sent there by his very religious family.
This story kept my attention and I was glued to the pages. What started as a friends-with-benefits relationship bloomed into so much more.
I was extremely pleased with the attraction here and there were many emotional scenes, as Ben was determined to finally LIVE out loud without being ashamed or feeling the need to hide he was gay and in love with his best friend. They reconnected after many years and even if they were extremely different, they fell into place so fast.
Great writing, great pace, a lot of hot scenes and a sweet and wonderful ending....more

I loved this one so much even if it wrecked my heart! But these are my favorite stories. Those that make me feel the character's pain.
I've read it in on sitting and I couldn't put it down. I've highlighted a lot too. It's one of my favorites from Riley Hart.
Roman and Leo. They were perfect together. They were in love when they were only 16. Leo was the son of a judge who often put Roman's dad under bars. They were different as night and day. But there was something about their need of being around the other. They had dreams of running away and be together forever. Until one awful day that changed it all.
This story is painful because it once again draws attention to how devastating homophobia is. And there's nothing worse than to be hurt by your own family and forced to deny who you are and who you love. It does so much damage to a person's mind. The consequences are devastating.
I loved Leo's carefree attitude. He lived his life as he wanted, out and proud. And Ro, well he was so different. He was working hard and trying to live his life by pretending his past didn't exist. But he needed to face the past, face his fears and pain. I'm glad they met again as adults and made peace with their past. It was extremely painful for both of them, but it was needed. I don't want to imagine how Ro could have lived his whole life unhappy and in denial.
This is a second chance romance, which is one of my favorite tropes. I also adored Ro's determination to find himself and reveal what was true about his own life.
It's a story full of revelations and it has also a lot of super HOT scenes....more

This is the first book in the Start Something series and it was pretty different than the author's debut book, Bleeding Like Me, which I absolutely loved - if you haven't read it, go check it out, maybe you'd like to read some pretty sexy MM romance with gangs, action and a sweet and happy ending.
Back to Watch Me Fall. I am glad it's different that Bleeding like me, because I love it when an author writes very different stories.
I got invested into this story from the first pages. The writing is extremely good! I couldn't put it down. What took me by surprise would be how the main characters met. But I'm always happy to be surprised. Actually it's nothing I love more. I hate it when the authors force the first interaction between characters. So here we got something different.
Eli (Elijah Tucker) is 27. He's black, has green eyes and a very kind heart. He worked very hard to escape from the South Side of Chicago. Now he's living in the North Side, he's rich, but all he has he earned it on his own. He's one of the best real estate brokers, and he never forgot where he came from.
Gideon is 18 and still in high school. He thinks he'll never get out of the dirty and poor neighborhood. He's used to being hungry. Even if he thinks he'll never have more, he's afraid to lose the only thing he loves: soccer. And what could be worst than being a broke and hungry teen in the scary part of the city? Well he's also gay, but he won't admit it to himself, much more to his best friend Bryce. Even if they experimented a little.
I loved Eli's need to get close to Gideon. It was endearing to see him bring him food and then spend time with him. I absolutely loved everything about Eli and how he took care of Gideon. He was sweet and kind, never listened to Gideon's fake complaints. And even if Gideon seemed distant, cold and an angry teen with a big mouth, he couldn't stay away.
The attraction is off the charts and I loved them together! I laughed out loud many times reading their messages. The banter was amazing. The first half of the book had just my favorite kind of tension. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough but in the same time I didn't want it to end. We get a lot of super hot scenes and I fell in love with their new routine. It felt right and nothing seemed to shake their world.
My only complaint would be that we don't get more relationship angst. We do get some, just not enough to make my blood boil or to get me on the edge of my seat. I kind of felt that things fell into place a little too easy. I expected more internal struggling from Gideon, about his sexuality and then their relationship. I expected much more fear of losing what they had from Eli. I love angst. I love books that wreck my heart and then put it back together. I'm crazy like that. So this is the only reason I'm not giving this book 5 stars. But I'm glad I've read it, I really liked it and I am excited to read the next book, which is the continuation of Eli and Gideon's story.
From what the author mentioned, in the third book we'll get Bryce's story (Gideon's best friend) and I'm looking forward to reading it too, having high hopes that the bi sexy man will find the one, a man who'll win his heart.
This is my favorite book in the series. It was extremely HOT!

This is my favorite book in the series. It was extremely HOT!
I should start by saying I'm not a fan of BDSM in books. Dom and sub relations aren't something I usually enjoy reading about. Well until now. Because here we get a great back story and some pretty intriguing characters.
The Sassy Boys are stronger than ever. Hop is one of the two new guys and he works hard to fit into the group. He practices a lot, but his mind is consumed about meeting Rafe. After all these years, Rafe is still a sore subject to him. He was there for Hop when he needed him during Hop's rebellious years, but he abandoned him many years ago.
Rafe is the owner of the club Switch. He's so sure of himself, a true force. And he's determined to pay all his debts to Hop's father. But to do it, he needs Hop's help.
I was hooked by this story from the start. I was so curious to discover why Hop hated Rafe so much. The hate seemed mutual, but everything changed when they came face to face. And when they got alone in the same room sparks begun to fly.
This story is extremely HOT! It actually took me by surprise. I thought I knew what to expect but Elizabeth Varlet exceeded my expectation with this story. It felt so real! Hop and Rafe were so lonely and vulnerable. But they learned to make peace with the past and they fit together perfectly!
The best thing about this book is the chemistry between the characters. We get so many hot scenes and some unexpected turns. I've read it in one sitting and I adored the ending!

Great ending to a series full of ANGST and blood and some pretty dark scenes, but with some extremely HOT ones too.
I've read the first 3 books in this series: King, Tyrant and Lawless in a row. King was a great surprise. I really didn't expect to get so sucked into the story. I am a huge MM fan and I have only a few MF on my TBR. King was my oldest MF book that was resting on my to-read shelf for more than 2 years. After finishing it I dived right into Tyrant, because we get the worst cliffhanger of all times. Tyrant ended being a great sequel, full of surprises.
In Lawless and Soulless we get Bear's story. I wanted him to be happy, because he was obviously smitten with King's girl and I knew he didn't have a chance. Losing his best friend changed him. So when Thia showed up things started to change again, but for the better.
As much as I ended up loving Bear and Thia, this book didn't keep me on the edge of my seat. I kind of guessed most surprises, minus the last and most unexpected one. Wow!
I don't want to share too much, as this series needs to be experienced without any spoilers. It's safe to admit that it's FULL of super hot scenes, but also some cheesy ones. We again get A LOT of action, blood, deaths and a very happy ending.
I am very curious about Rage - the soulless criminal with the face of an angel, but who thought she is incapable of feeling any emotion. Oh and Jake and Abbi must have a great story too. So I am looking forward to reading more from this author. I can't believe I'm admitting this, as I was so sure I will never find another MF series to capture my interest. The writing is really addictive!! ...more

This is the third book in the King series and I strongly advise you to read the books in order (just read them!). It's not only the fact that they are connected, but these are amazing stories. Dark, gritty, but great ones!
The author blew my mind again with another action packed book full of violence, blood, and super hot scenes!
I was extremely curious to read Bear's story. He is King's closest friend. Their history goes way back. Bear grew up in a motorcycle club run by his father. Unfortunately he didn't have a father, just a crazy power hungry man who beat him and treated him like dirt. After leaving the club, Bear knew he'll be hunted, but he didn't know how far they were going to go just to get to him and make him pay.
Years ago he promised a little pink haired girl he's going to help her someday if she needs him. After 7 years she desperately needs his help, but seeking him almost cost her life.
I absolutely adore to be on the edge on my seat and this book did exactly that. The suspense was killing me as we get some dark and twisted scenes.
As much as I love Bear, King is still my favorite and I am glad we get to revisit him....more
